Only charge the phone, if you can help it, when it's below 20% charge. The lower the better. Don't leave it plugged in at 100% unless you're syncing or updating software. Frequent charging, and charging when its full, can weaken the battery. Charging it all the way up, then using it until its dead is the best way to promote better battery help, with pretty much any battery.
