HTC inspire and 4G.

So I have a new Inspire 4G. I am only getting speeds of 1.47Mbps download and 0.14 Mbps upload. My girls iPhone4 is faster then this. is it locked within the firmware? If I root it, will it be faster? Maybe the HSPA+ is not really there? If I go to About phone> Netwrok> Mobile Service Type, it shows HSPDA. Should it show HSPA+? Do I have a lemon phone and need to exchange? Thnaks,

Does your phone read H+? Also, contact care to make sure that the feature code they have for your data plan read HSPA+ in the system.

The phone does read HSPA+ on the top of the screen. When I look online it shows my feature code as HSSMT7

That's interesting.

Phone Scoop's in depth review said the same thing, that they got faster speeds on the iphone 4.

Maybe the updated version of sense is hogging all the system resources.

Your phone is correct. The Inspire does have HSPDA capability but lacks HSUPA. That is why upload speeds suck. Other than that, this phone is perfect.
