Ive been looking into watch phones lately, They run on the same GSM bands as att, but no wcdma (?) band. It is my understanding that att uses one for data and one for voice. My question is will these watch phones work on atts service? i do noit want to buy one and find that no company will support the service.

Both gsm and wcdma are used for both voice and data.

You just need to match the bands. If GSM 850 is supported it will work on the at&t network.

I wrote an article about cross carrier compatibility of gsm phones on phonecan if you care to peruse:

OMG! do NOT get a watch phone, # they are NOT supported on the network you MAY be able to put a sim in and get voice service but data will never work. The phone is a POS, I'm in tech and never ever seen one work worth a darn. If you do have problems with the device you will be lucky to get anyone in customer care who even knows what a watch phone is. also with no warrenty on the device you will be directed back to the "watch phone Company" who ever that may be for help. Still dont know any one who has been able to find a customer care number for "Watch Phone"
