Iphone 3gs problems after 4.0 sortware upgrade

Im having some issues that i never had before, with my iphone 3gs, after this new software upgrade. Here is a list of them:

The tethering option in the settings looks like it constantly trying to connect to something. I can turn it off. I tried even restoring the phone, and it doesn't do anything

Visual Voice-mail is unavailable. It really never worked right from day 1. Tried hard re-set, tried resetting the network settings..nothing seems to work.

Pages are freezing to the point I have to rest the phone.

When I dial out to a number, there is a 15-20 sec silence before i hear the other phone ringing.

What can I do? Is there a solution? Is this an AT&T problem or Apple? Any help would be great?

Wow - that was a nice little childish rant, all we needed was stomping feet and a door slam. Try posting some information that will help people instead of your predictable anti-ATT/anti-Apple ranting and raving.

Obviously Chanelphone has some issues and needs to switch to decaf. To answer your question, it sounds like a phone/software problem. You may want to call 1-800-MY-IPHONE or go to an Apple store and have someone check it out for you.

Well I called my local AT&T store and they are working on the towers in my area. Visual voicemail will not work if I'm not in 3G or Edge. Currently they are working on turning the 3 g on in this area. Hopefully by sept 3G will be up and running where I live. As far as the other issues the guy AT&T said it might be helpful to get a new sim. I hope when sept comes, 3G will be active.

Awesome. I've heard the whole "we are updating the towers in your area" and "a new SIM card should do the trick" a million times. These are just feel good answers and not the real problem, which is, your iphone has software problems and once again, is a great ipod with a crappy phone built in(not at&t's fault...)

what you need to do is back up the device and then restore the device as new...dont restore the device from back up because all you will be doing is moving teh problem around...restore as new and import you contacts then readd your apps one at a time from the device...that will fix all the issues you are having with the new ios...

I did do a restore, but it was not new. I remember it asking me if I wanted to set up a new iPhone. Will try it I guess. Also I have noticed sometimes my signal bars and my wifi , edge, and 3G icons are blue, then sometimes white. What's that about?

Those icons in the status bar are always white when on the home screen and they are blue when in the settings menu and also some applications.

Yeah, I figured that out. Now I'm having a network issue. The E in my status bar doesn't show up at my home and about a mile in every direction. Also visual voicemail is currently unavailable. I called cs and they put a trouble ticket in. It's been 2 weeks and nothing. Hope it gets fixed kinda soon...

IDK if this will help any but when I got my 3gs I was having similar problems and when I called AT&T about the issue it turned out that the proper data package had not been added to the line. Probably not the issue in your case but I thought I'd just throw it out there.
