After losing its exclusivity contract with Apple last week, many AT&T iPhone users have switched to Verizon Wireless who released the iPhone just a little over a week ago. It's is estimated that approximately 8% of iPhone users have made the switch to Verizon Wireless, and they are already putting the Wireless giant that for many years has claimed to have "the most reliable network" in a sticky situation.
Reports are coming from Boston, Chicago, NYC, Miami, San Francisco and many other cities throughout the US of poor service, dropped calls, sporadic data speeds. A call to Verizon Wireless was not immediately returned.
In the meantime, Verizon Wireless stores don't have the iPhone in stock. It's esti...

You say Verizon's 3G then go on to say dropped calls, um I don' think so.
That's why VZW is so desirable because even if (unlikely) theres a problem with 3G you'll still be able to place voice calls and texts.

Unlike ATT that uses one for all until it gets congested and then tries to move some down to slower EDGE, which we've seen work so well.

But you can still wish. 🙄

Verizon uses a totally different technology to handle data and calls. It is significantly more efficient than ATT's model, so while internet speeds slow down, you wouldn't notice call issues until far past the mark that GSM phones would become bricks.

On top of that, Verizon has a very high % of customers in "rural" areas, (what you ATT people call the boonies) meaning that the usage will be a lot more spread out.

And even if there were issues, Verizon's not shy about spending billions on their network, so issues that exist would take a lot shorter than 2+ years to get under control.

Nice story. Send it to Ralphie and advise him to relinquish the exclusive at his earliest opportunity.
