Verizon Wireless fell behind AT&T in terms of net adds, adding just 1.2 million subscribers in its third quarter. In comparison, AT&T said last week it added 2 million subscribers in its most recent quarter and boosted ARPU nearly 4 percent to $61.23. Verizon's ARPU slipped to $51.04....

I wish you and millions of other iPhone users would get the iPhone on Verizon too. AT&T can't handle it and everywhere I go I see people with the iPhone. Now that the 3G is 99 bucks with a new contract, everyone is getting their hands on it and it's crowding out the network.

And here I am, little 2G user trying not to drop calls on my RAZR.

I don't see how in the world all the iPhones (on the 3G network) would affect you (on the 2G network)... unless:
1- You're not in a 3G area
2- You actually have a 3G RAZR (and don't know it? 😕 )
3- There are a lot of 2G iPhones in your area?

Anyway... Have you tried other phones? Maybe you should upgrade to 3G

Beating? No.
You have not seen anything yet. Verizon is releasing 15 new phones from now until the end of December.

"The company added 1.2 million subscribers in the third quarter, bringing the total number of wireless customers to 89.0 million. While total churn was 1.49 percent, retail postpaid churn was 1.13 percent. Total ARPU (average revenue per user) decreased 2.2 percent year-over-year to $51.04 while data ARPU increased to $15.59, up 17.2 percent year-over-year. Revenues totaled $15.8 billion, an increase of 24.4 percent year-over-year."

It does not break down those adds into detail, however it does break down retail versus total churn. It is difficult to say. I am still researching.

Verizon could release 100 phones and it won't matter because none of them are the iPhone and EVERYONE wants that stinkin' device. The fact that you guys are now trained to dissuade people who come into your stores from going to AT&T and getting the damn iPhone proves that until you guys get the iPhone, you won't be able to get a device that will persuade people otherwise.

I wish Apple would launch the iPhone on Verizon so that people who hate AT&T will go flood the Verizon network and cause them to have problems.

The iphone just like the Razr is a fad. Its 15 minutes will be up soon enough...right about the time AT&T loses exclusivity.

Which came first: The chicken or the egg?

When Cingular was the only carrier with the Razr and they were charging three hundred dollars WITH a 2 year contract for it...it was a status symbol. Once other carriers were able to sell it, the price dropped substantially and more people were flaunting it and it lost its snob factor.

The RAZR was a status symbol, even though it was a camera phone and nothing more. The iPhone on the other hand is a cool gadget (feature-rich touch screen smartphone) that everyone wants.

The days of having a phone for status are giving way to the days of having the smartphone with all the feature. People want the full internet/computer experience on their phones now.

At the time the Razr was the edge of technology. Camera, Speaker, outside display screen, voicedial, it may seem like a joke now but at the time it was a cool gadget.

And the days of having a phone for status are still well here. The smartphone is the status. The iPhone is for people who want to look important and the Blackberry is for people who are important.

So your saying the ghetto thug I pulled up to yesterday that was driving a 1980 Caprice blasting rap and throwing up gang signals while yelling at my wife and talking on his blackberry is important, but the CEO of the financial firm that I work for who uses a iPhone is not important? Ok, I see

i was just wondering, why dont We (as in the big four) allow devices like blackberries or pdas and smart phones on the network without the data plan, but when setting the phone up if the cux doesnt want to pay the extra $1 per day, just do a data block on the account? I do it all the time for regular phones why not smart phones. I dont see a reason to have a smartphone without the data, its great being able to surf the web get my email and it all goes to the same place unlike my old LG. Its like you have a cow (network) and want to use the milk (device), but dont want to pay for certian foods (services) to keep it healthy
