Better Service Question

I got a question and maybe I'm not reading this right. So, the whole thing about the web video of the guy explaining why service sucks with ATT and all that stuff about the 850mHz spectrum...is that going to improve overall service for ATT or just for iPhones or what's the deal? Is that launched already in certain areas, like NYC, or will that roll out on Sept 25th with the update to use MMS on the iPhone bc I'm still getting crap service on my iPhone. Thanks in advance.

I think the video said that they are moving more 3G over to 850 MHz, so any 3G device should see the improvement.

As an iPhone owner, some of the problems are definitely iPhone only. I have a Gophone Nokia that out-performs the iPhone in tough coverage areas by quite a bit. And since the 3.1 software update, I'm back to having to reboot the phone about once per week because I'll start dropping data *and* the ability to use the phone.

So, while AT&T isn't the best, and the iPhone is a nice phone, it is not perfect.
