hey guys, im currently with verizon, but my service area kind of sucks. customer service is no help. and i been having problems with my phone. drop calls and static quality. i did an update and got phones switched out, so its the network. my contracts ends this saturday and i wanna switch to AT&T. I live in austin, tex. i know AT&T is really good here, i have friends and family that have them and really happy. I actually live 2 miles away from a at&t tower.
I wanna know when will the A-list plans come out? and what phone is good for text, email and web. I'm considering an iphone, but wanted to see if theres other phones out there worth looking at. I gotta have wifi, and bluetooth. As you can tell.. verizon phones dont have wifi and bluet...

I currently have an omnia with verizon.

Uh think that a list crap came out either last sunday or the sunday before. I'm against the iphone just because it's a super popular phone ie theft magnet and it's 100 pct asurion no touchy uninsurable. So if you drop it, get it stolen, have dog eat it, drop it in toilet, run it through the washer etc have fun shelling out 600 bucks on another. For wifi phones the rim htc fuze, the samsung i627 or i637 maybe?
...
or the rim 8900 or 9000 sorry
...
Don't hate on the iPhone because you can't afford to buy another if it breaks. buy insurance.
...
He just said in his post that insurance isn't available for the Iphone.
I have an unlocked/unbranded phone, so insurance definetly isn't an option for me, so I am very, very attentive about my phone.

Third-party insurance is available for almost any phone.
...
Really? Even my beloved Nokia N95?
...

Check with on-line third party insurers - or your insurance agent.

Well, if your recommending the Fuze, doesn't it just make sense to wait 2/3wks for the successor to the Fuze, the Tilt 2. Nice big high res screen, unmatched keyboard!
...
a list comes out sep 21 and you should probably go for some of the blackberrys 8900 or 9000 but if you looking for a normal phone there is tons of options and the iphones are really good but yes if you do damage that thing you will be out of luck but yea check out the phones you'll like what you see 😉
...
Why are you out of luck if you drop an iPhone? Applecare covers you and it is cheaper than the standard Asurion ins. plan?
...
applecare only covers manufacture defects .. if you drop it thats customer damage and is not covered.
...
Applecare covers several OOW repairs, including screen repair. The downside is that it is still 200 bucks for the repair. The upside is that that is less than 500 bucks..
...
its 200 to replace the screen without applcare too. Applecare is a rip.
...
Really? Thats a bummer...The apple rep told me it was like 300 bucks without applecare...
...
I have a BB 8900 and love it. Its an all around performer. iPhone is cool and better for web, but not as good of a phone(meaning it drops more calls and doesn't get as good of reception.)
...
that depends on your area and 3G coverage so make sure you check the coverage area before getting a phone DO NOT depend on the sales reps!!!
...
lol what are you mad bc you know that i am right awwwwwwwwwwww poor baby let me shed a little tear for you 😢 .. not 🤣 🤣
...
No, not because you are right. Because you just slammed everyone in this forum basically telling them that they give bad advice, don't know what they are doing, and to referr to a coverage map for the best answers. You are a douche.
...
lol thats ok it does not offend me its not my problem that you have a problem with me its yours

Here's the truth: When sales people, of any job or any company are motivated by commission, they lie, and bend the truth and so on, any industry, whether it's an electronics store, or whatever. Commission based sales people aren't always honest.
The statement I just made IS NOT ATT specific, it's specific to ANYBODY who is a commission based sales person
...
You are making a blanket statement. Its a little unfair. So where would you say to turn to get good advice? Is there any non biased, impartial outlet for every answer you need? How about you take into account multiple sources of information...salesman, online forums, company websites, recomendations from friends and make up your mind. Calling out all salespeople nation wide and calling them liars isn't good joo joo.
...
I swear a lot of you guys on Phone Scoop are so, so, so frinkin immature.
...
Hello Pot! Meet the Kettle! 🙂
...
i know at&t has the best coverage in my city and where I'm at. majority of my friends have at&t and greatly pleased.
...
My take on the iphone is that it is expensive because you have to buy everything through i tunes and there is no insurance but apple does sell a protection plan plus the 30.00 data plan every month, but on the other hand if you can afford it i would buy it. It is a nice phone my friend has one.
If you want something like the iphone i would go with some type of blackberry, but i would not get one with a track ball in it that is a known issue with the blackberrys. i would suggest the 8900 or the bold.
As far as the A-List the last that i heard is that it is on the 22nd of this month but i am not sure i havnt heard any thing new yet on that. But you do have to have the 900 min plan if you are a single line and 2100 min if you are a family...

I'm going to the AT&T store tommorrow, thats when my verizon contract ends! and I will be doing some playing and shopping. I think I'm just going with a regular plan, I dont really talk much and most people I know have AT&T.
Phone wise.. I'm debating on the bold 9000 and 3GS.
I heard AT&T is getting the storm 2? is this correct?
...
i have heard that as a rumor but i am not sure you could ask a sales rep and they would probably know more
...
Actually, it's the 1400 plan that is required for the family plan for A-List. I know, I have it.
...
Kinda funny, Verizon is so frinkin ****y about they're supposed supior network, and here you are testifying that it's well, no good. How do you know which towers are AT&T, and which aren't? Personally, I can't just look at a tower and know which carrier it belongs to.
...
Well.. it is no good. thats why im leaving them. I mean its a commerical and every company has to have a good commercial to persued there customers right? its business. I been with them for 2 years. and when i went to alltel they bought them out so i had to wait till my contract ended. I did own a samsung omnia. My service bars/signal was only 2 or 3, in my apartment i only have 1 if lucky. Yes, to cover what people are about to say, i did do an update. i got new omnia switched out. I did everything i could for my phone. So the 3G or largest overage everywhere is not true. My experience with customer service is horrible! I dont think i could go through with it again. Everytime I call, it seems like i know more than the rep. and my bill is al...
