jbecool80

Should I stay with AT&T awful 3G network. Or switch to Sprint with the better 3G network?

Depends on how you define better? With Sprint customers defecting like rats off a sinking ship you don't have many reasons from my point of view to choose Sprint over AT&T.

sprint does have a better (faster) 3g network and is usually quite a bit cheaper than At&t. Customer service department as far as toll free number is horrible but instead of just shopping for a phone shop for a cell phone rep....its your best gateway no matter the carrier

From experience... Sprint over charge on their taxes on your monthly statement, especially compared to the other carriers. Why? I have no idea...

sprints biggest problem is that every different type of store/call center uses a different system for accounts i.e. corp versus agent or affiliate vs agent and then there are the out sourced call centers lol. When I worked there the "taxing" issue happened when a customer either moved from one city to another and the system didnt catch it and charged the taxes for the new city AND current city or they did a change of liability and the same thing happened. I never had problems if a customer said something it was always corrected.....remember though its not in Sprints best interest to "tax" more than they should they dont see a dime of that....maybe in a round about way but it doesn't go toward ARPU numbers...

nickle and diming. It looks cheaper on paper as long as that paper is not your bill! How does a 50.00 unl. plan turn into a 120.00 bill? Don't ask customer service they have no idea (that they are willing to share). It's funny how the advertised cheapest company winds up being way more expensive than the only two options you should consider. VZ or At&t are your only GOOD options.

first off sprint doesnt have a $50 unlimited plan, thats boost, and second of all, show me a bill that is on the $99.99 plan and it gets charged more i will fix it cause its unlimited everything besides ringtones, 411 and international calling. some i have seen is because they think that 411 is free 😕

example from at&t site
this is just one, and its for a blackberry
unlimited minutes = $99.99
$30 extra for JUST unlimited data
$50 extra if you want texting with that too... yeah your getting a great deal there!!

sprint = unlimited everything plan plus and aircard for same price - $149.99

verizon with a blackberry plan + email =
$129.99 plus whatever it is for texting.

still not cheaper...

oh and heres a little tid bit ...

Maybe if you were smarter, you would do research and know that the Roaming is for AC plans. Nationwide does have roaming charges or the blinking roaming light.

Also, if a call enters the network either restriced or unavail, there is no way to determine where that call comes from...

And just for fun from the AT&T T&C's..

Caller ID Blocking: Your billing name may be displayed along with your wireless number on outbound calls to other wireless and landline phones with Caller ID capability. Contact customer service for information on blocking the display of your name and number. **You may be charged for both an incoming and an outgoing call when incoming calls are routed to voicemail, even if no message is left.** See Wireless Service Agreement for additional conditions and restrictions

Looks like they have a dirty little secret as well... 🤣

Hmmm How is it the fastest when 80% of the time you are on VZ towers rockin VZ EVDO? Anyway I was answering the question, Sprint is way worse than at&t in many areas. Go with at&t (if you must) and leave Sprint to the credit challenged 🤣

Hi silly goose!
Just wanted to let you know that the different technologies don't easily allow people to roam off other towers, i.e. GSM vs CDMA. And if there is a roaming agreement between the two companies normally the data is restricted to slower speeds as to not chew up bandwith on the towers. My goodness, come on think sometimes before you post on here. I think they will give these accounts to almost anyone. Sheesh...

Oh my Golly!
Character attacks on one's sexual orientation? Goodness you are amazing. Also are you so OCD about being so cool on Phonescoop you looked into my join date? Gosh, I am very flattered you checked into me, it's.. um sweet I guess. But back on topic, CDMA vs GSM is still like comparing apples and oranges, sure they are both fruits (feel free to use the fruit comment in your reply), but they are still not the same.
Take care mr. uscingulair!
Sincerely,

well lets start with overall company growth, AT&T has been able to maintain $20-$30 per share in this bad economy. Sprint is on a steady decline, they are currently at $5.27 a share and going down. That should tell you something in it self.

Sprint is offering some pretty good plans, but that is becasue the company is slowly dieing so they are offering cheaper plans to get people to stay or pull people over.

AT&T is more expensive but thier overall network is much larger, plus AT&T dose not charge for roaming, or long distance, within the the US or US territories, and dont forget rollover minutes. AT&T dose not extend your contract if you decide to raise or lower you minutes, add or remove features. Most of AT&T's phone are world phone ...

Sprint has roaming and long distance included also..... and your network is not more reliable... do some research.... SPRINT has a right plan promise that means you can change your plan as many times as you want w/o a contract extension (been like that since NOV 2007). And rollover minutes are not really that useful, i used to have AT&T 11 months in i had 6700 plus roll over mins, i wasted all my money on minutes i didn't use, if your not going to use the minutes might as well lower your plan.

And your statement about "Sprint is offering some pretty good plans" There is no current plan that AT&T has that can compare to sprints... Only upside to AT&T is the amount of subscribers (more free M2M), Gsm (worldwide coverage), and Sim card + unl...

At the start of 2008 Sprint had 52.8 million customers. They now have 49.1 million. At the start of 2008 ATT had 71.4 million, they now have 78.2 million. Honestly, its whatever works for you best in your area - it doesn't matter how many customer's are leaving Sprint (at least not in the near future) if it works better in your area, use it - Just my two cents 😉

Honestly I think that ATT has so many customers only because of the iPhone. If sprint had the iPhone many people would be jumping ship also. There are people out there who simply switched over specifically for the iPhone. I believe that sprints network is alot more superior over AT&Ts its just Sprints customer service that kinda F*** them up.

That would depend on where you live.
AT&T and Sprint both work fine where I live. AT&T's voice calls are better (other end complains of calls breaking up when I'm using Sprint)
