Verizon's 80 million cutomers
So AT&T had to by Cingular wireless to get to 63.5 million customers.
Either way, both AT&T(Cingular) and Verizon Wireless bought their way to the top. It's the way of the world. The big buy other companies to grow. There isn't much patience for naturally growing companies anymore...
1. Alltel is a CDMA service.
2. Verizon will become LTE which is a part of GSM.
3. Unicel still had there old CDMA network up as well as GSM, and CDMA service is more used in the US then GSM. GSM coverage sucks in the US.

All that info was true.

It's spelled "YOU'RE". YOU'RE is a contraction of two words: YOU and ARE. Learn this and will be well on your way to graduating the 3rd grade.
1. Alltel is a CDMA service. Ok, well guess what? No one gives a damn. They also have a massive GSM footprint that the GSM carriers roam off.
2. Verizon is going to LTE. Once again, pointless and completely irrelevant to the original post (which was a dumb post to begin with). For clarificati...

1st off, it was toward another post in the main post smart @$$.
2nd. GSM coverage is no where near as good as CDMA coverage in the US.
3rd. There is more CDMA customers in the US then GSM. Over 100 million maybe for GSM, but almost 200 Million for CDMA.
4th. Verizon will not have a GSM/UMTS network!
WE DONT NEED IT!
We will have only LTE and shut down the CDMA network once its complete.
AT&T is not ready for LTE.
There 3G is horrible just like your knowledge.
It's not going to take Verizon long at all the put up LTE. They have already said it.
In Jan 2010 Verizon Wireless will become the first wireless company to offer commercial LTE-based service in the United States!
Utilizing its rec...

In the world of tylerrocks09, you believe whatever is most convenient at the time.
"Alltel was a large regional CDMA carrier offering service in 33 states, primarily in the south, midwest, and west. In 2005, the company acquired Western Wireless, a smaller carrier that operated under the Cellular One brand with service in 19 western states."
I believe that the GSM spectrum alltel had was picked up in the Cellular One deal.

I act very impressed and ask for a list so I can call them all.
Of course they lose interest in me shortly after that. ๐ณ

no..
they show it.
click Pre Paid and it shows it in light purple.
Nope. Only shows SOME roaming coverage. They call most of their roaming "extended network."
All the Roaming in the US is called Extended Network on a Post Paid Plan.
On Pre Paid plan, it says Roaming.
Remember Verizon bought Alltel and most of Unicel, thats with the Alltel Coverage AND Unicel coverage.
That "Roaming" is really the only "Roaming" Verizon has. Because you said thats not all there Roaming when it is.
The Purple is there Native Coverage.

What purple? The map they show online only shows red,(digital)yellow,(analog),and white(none).

It's still wrong because Verizon has zero coverage in zipcode area 37385. That is 100% US Cellular country, not Verizon. They also have zero coverage in Birchwood, TN.
Plus, the post paid map is still all red.
AT&T needs to throw money at its network, or they will end up like Sprint: bleeding themselves to death.
My uncle just switch to Alltel in Tupelo, MS.
he use to get full service in his house, then it slowly drop to 1 bar over thepast 2 years, now he did get any thing.
So he switch yesterday.
So considering you care so much why don't you take the time to use some correct grammer. Do you speak that way too? I am being serious here, not just ripping you for your views. Your views, by the way, need some scrubbing for accuracy. Sometimes you actually make decent points then make a fool of yourself with completely made up facts. Couple that with your horrible grammer and you LOOK like a fool. If you aren't then show others you aren't by your actions.
"So he switch yesterday"
Say that out loud. If it sounds fine then hooked on phonics is in your future. If it doesn't then take some time to re-read what you type befo...

I agree. AT&T's network is good, but they do need to improve it to make it GREAT.
Right now they are putting too much emphasis on having the best global coverage, which is smart, but don't put all your eggs in that one basket.
The truth is, most wireless customers don't travel overseas, or even to our neighboring countries. So focus on the domestic network right now. Yes, it is important to have global coverage, but if your domestic coverage st...

You make it sound like at&t is building out network overseas which they aren't(and I don't think they can anyways correct me if I'm wrong)The reason they make the best network claim for the globe is because they can't make it for the USA. So since the top three all try and market a network claim like "fastest network" or "most reliable" or "largest coverage" at&t is stuck marketing largest global coverage. Anyone in the industry takes that at face value but some consumers will take it serious since they don't know the difference(best coverage on the globe-americas on the globe-so at&t must has the best coverage there too)
But you are right, there needs to be more network improvements(especially in the w
