Does anyone know if there is a way to keep an old ATT plan (from before the Cingular merger)? I was dealing with a customer earlier that had an old ATT America plan with free nights @ 7, 900 anytime, free M2M and Free Weekends for $45 for the primary and $20 for the secondary ($65 MRC). Well none of the current ATT offerings come even close, but in order for them to upgrade their handsets, they have to change their plan. Do any of you know how to get around that, if its at all possible?
Thanks!

What system are you working in? I've done it, in the upgrade flow I just opt not to change. They can't force you on a new plan. I use PDCII.

I am an authorized retail store and we can do it as long as it is time for your upgrade and we don't have to call.
...
can't do it
the AMERICA PLAN IS legacy att wireless
there is no way to go back to that plan ever again
sell the benefits of todays plans and let them know in order to be the new att they must migrate to ourside
...
Wrong. You cannot keep legacy blue AT&T Wireless plans when migrating to the new at&t.
You have to change the plan. I am in a COR store and worked for an agent years ago as well, in neither case are you able to do it.
It doesn't matter what system it is, OPUS, PDC are frontends for Telegence/CARE, and both systems do not allow legacy AT&T Wireless plans to be kept on the new side.
However, you can change people on legacy blue to new at&t plans without migrating.

this is very true im in beuc call center. they can upgrade their phones and everything. we can even switch to their old tdma plans, from my abilities. but the plan will not work. like at all. research mycsp before on migrating. because there is additional offerings you can give the customers so they can use the new services

What offerings? My price is $42 on old at&t blue, if I got the same plan features on AT&T orange, it would be $80-$90. Why would I want to change?

That is one of the reasons why there is no "blue" ATT wireless anymore. They were hemorrhaging money and the only way that they could even think about staying afloat was to offer such outrageous plans that people would want to sign up for them. Corporate purchases, such as the ATT Wireless/Cingular one don't happen overnight, so in order to attract new customers and keep old ones, ATT Wireless gave away minutes like they were candy. They had to keep the doors open and keep customers, so when the Cingular purchase went down, there was something for them to buy. Besides, they knew that they weren't going to have to worry about these plans losing money, it was going to be Cingular's problem.
The new ATT (formerly Cingular) has been nice eno...

Sorry no way around it. The new at&t phones and the Cingular phones are not compatible their sim card will not work in the phones unless they are unlocked. They just need to purchase a phone and unlock it. If their sim card no longer works they are out of luck as AT&T sims are no longer available.

Clairify that please. If I'm on the old legacy plan and have an unlocked phone the new orange sim card will work for me ?
...
no.
You cannot provision an orange SIM card onto a blue account.

But is that a technical problem or just a finanacial problem ?

That is a technological problem

only listen to customer service reps yes this can be done short and simple if say for some reason a person was on that plan upgraded a line dumb rep changed his plan without him knowing it all it takes is a manager override or a case to be submitted to have that done
