I don't think AT&T sucks. I have had Cingular since I got my first phone at 14 yrs. old. Now, the New AT&T offers even more options and better coverage than it did even before. There are just so may options people don't take advantage of. That is the reason why I believe that everyone complains about the service they have. ☚ī¸

but the specific question is ... does this service work well overall in Seattle or not? Geez ... you sound like a politician.

I hear good and bad about it. My read is that it's basically alright, but with enough trouble spots to generate complaints. Got a particular ZIP in mind?

Looks like a pretty good spot in general. Good density of cell sites, and good signal readings. Topography doesn't seem too evil either.

I do see a few spots that could be trouble under certain circumstances. Crossroad of Meridian Ave S and E 203rd St, for instance.

Admittedly, this is a scientific wild guess, not certainty. The signal strength readings in particular might be out of date. But you would have the 30 day trial period if things didn't work out.

You should try a 30 day trial with companies that offer it. That is your best bet.

I spent two weeks in Seattle and surrounding areas last August and was very happy with my service. Everything around SeaTac was good, Bellevue was okay but not incredible, Everett was good, downtown was all fine, the entire San Juan area was covered, Mukilteo was good, I can't think of more specifics but I didn't run into any trouble that kept me from making a call. Try it, I bet it will work just fine for you.

same thing here. I spent a weekend up there in august and had no problems. Now it didn't work in the water shed but nothing really works there anyways.

Water reminds me, I had some pretty good coverage in the Ocean. And then Rogers picked me up so I still had coverage, but I was International Roaming at that point. And then when you get your bill you call care and tell them you've never been to Canada, roaming charges all gone!

Because it's obvious by the wording of this post it was meant to be inflammatory. Someone truly interested in switching carriers wouldn't post something that is worded in a way to invite controvesy. If you'll notice, all of his troll buddies followed him in here to add their 2 cents as well.

Oh well. His words MIGHT be construed as a jab at AT&T. You work for Sprint, right? So where's the skin off of your nose? And you never have to deal with a customer who is perhaps a little disgruntled?

I don't get it, I suppose. I mean, sure, in the Lounge, the gloves are off. Here, I'm probably construed as representing my employer, even though I'm off the clock. And if I were to act like that, an onl...

YEah it sucks if you want to make 100% reliable phone calls. But its not bad in every other area.

I'd say don't bother. Stay with Verizon or whomever you are with. ATT is only for those who can read manuals and understand BT and is not afraid to buy a non branded un;ocked phone.

I bought a Nokia N95-4 at Best Buy last Monday. It's nice and works great on AT&T. I like it save for not having the qwerty keyboard but I am giving it a fair try out anyway. I just don't see how I'm going to do any heavy emailing/txt on this w/o the full keyboard. Nice device though. At least if you do have AT&T you will have GSM and far more choices in phones.

I doubt that. Verizon will still fine a way to charge for what we get free on ATT. They have more to lose if they don't. Like the current income stream they get becasuse they DON'T have an open system and full BT implementation on every phone.

T9 works great. If its that much of an issue get the small BT Keyboard. If you have that much to say make the call .LOL

YES. because it's really "Cingular", they changed their name to AT&T Mobility to use the AT&T status in the communication industry. Service still sucks !
