Going to join ATT -- Release Date of iPhone 3G?
With my recent move from ND to TX, this puts me in position to have a GSM phone for the first time. So, needless to say I am a little anxious to join att -- BUT -- I have been waiting a month with the anticipation that the new 3G iPhone will be released soon.
Has anyone heard of exactly when they might hit the stores? I know apple.com is not carrying stock and the premier att.com site through my employer do not have them listed any longer either.
If it will be within a reasonable amount of time, would I be able to return a phone within 30 days and exchange it for the new iPhone?

ok first with the iphone ur eliglbe to upgrade to it anytime. so if you get a phone today in two month you can walk into any att store and purchase the iphone. the reason behind that is that you buy the iphone at retail price anyways so your always eligble to upgrade to it. also its rumored to release the 3g version in june sometime. butagain its just a rumor as of right now nothing concrete

I'd err on the side of caution if I were you. The one thing you're guaranteed when dealing with Apple is Steve Jobs changing his mind. pricing could change, eligibility could change (that i doubt), etc. I'm holding out until it's actually released and I am aware of any policy changes.

It was predicted to be with in the first ten days of june but the official launch date will be June 18th through June 29th, just like last year.
