how stupid can we get???

1.memory loss?: i washed my pants last night in the washing machine, i forgot my phone was still in the pocket.

2.innocent?: honest, i didnt drop my phone! so it should be covered by warranty...i didnt drop the phone. i dropped my purse and the phone was in it!

3.clueless: what? its out of warranty??? i never dropped my phone in water...how can it get water damaged...i only spilled coffee on it...

4.joker: i left my phone on top of the toaster and the keys melted. send me a replacement overnight!

5.animal-lover: my dog ate my phone

6.ignorant: i recieved the replacement phone with the liquid damage indicator red. what will happen if i am going to have problem with this phone??? i didnt expose it to liquid, i got it as is. (...

9.fraudulent or pesky parents???:i havent recieved the phone you sent out, it got stolen at my doorsteps because i was away on vacation when you delivered it here (sir as per our system you are using it on one of your account) which account??? i only have one account. (this account sir *number*) ooohhh..that's my mom's (yes sir, and that account is using the blackberry we sent) no she doesn't, she has a nokia...(no sir, she is using the replacement phone we sent, it is in one of your accounts so the charge is valid) which account??? Customer : ... I need you to activate my phone ☚ī¸.

me: I see we just sent you a phone from our warranty. Ok let me update the IMEI(*#06#), but you can just put the sim into it and it should work.

customer: It doesn't work, It does not turn on or anything.

me : It could be the battery is not charged or not working. (new batteries are not sent with most exchange by mail) That can be exchanged at a company store.

Customer: It is not the battery. A few days ago I went to a store when it was not working and they put in a new battery and it worked. It's not the battery. It's a new battery.

12.proud?:at&t sucks, you keep sending me crappy phones. this replacement phone is still not working, im so mad that im about to throw this damn piece of junk! I find some customers REALLY funny when they lie right to your face or are ignorant. The first thing I ask when the come into the store is "Do you have insurance?" and most of the time the answer is NO! I try to make it easy on you guys at Customer Service and XBM by troubleshooting and what not BEFORE they make calls to you guys. If I feel that XBM is the answer I try to call for them so that by me calling you guys can know that I've already gone through the things that need to be answered when it comes down to the phone. I'd rather the customer understand what's going on before that phone call is made. Less aggrivation that way.

stupidest questions i always hear from customers:

1. whats the SLIM/SIMS card?
2. do i need to power on the phone when i put this battery back on? because i didnt turn it off when i removed it.
3. do i still have GUARANTEE??? -its warranty ma'am

my favorite is when they say that the sim card can not be the cause of their insert sim card error messages. sorry to tell ya, if the phone can go bad in 3 months, so can a sim card.

This is easily one of the funniest threads I've read. Just to let you know, all of us at our store try to eliminate the idiots from calling you Most of the calls you will ever get that come from our store are those who don't understand that we don't just give away free phones. Our favorite instore story is when this pretty girl, her beefed up husband, and their 3yo came into the store. She walked right up to me, poked me in the chest while her husband flexed, and told me we were the worst company ever and her phone never works and she wants her money back for the months that her phone has not worked. These are two other ones that you can enjoy. Around Xmas a lady comes in and me and my coworker are near the front door. She hands me a v551 and tells me that it won't work or take a charge. I ask her if she has turned it off in awhile and she says she never turns it off. My coworker and I have to fight to get the battery cover off. When we do yellow water pours out of the phone(really, it poured out) all over our hands. Me: "Did you get this phone wet?" Her: "No, I just dropped it in the toilet." Lady comes in cause she wants a pink RAZR. One of guys I work with starts to help her and they start the upgrade. We have our own extended warranty we sell and he started to push it. She tells him that she has never dropped a phone and doesn't need it. We have a paper that customers must sign if they don't want the warrenty or insurance. She signs the paper. He finishes the sale and she walks out. At this time the RAZR was $79 after MIR. She is at her car and drops the phone. She picks it up and is now holding 2 pieces. She walks in and asks for a new one "this one broke." My coworker gets the phone and rings it up. "319.99 plus tax". he tells her. "What? I paid $79 after a rebate. Why is it so much?" I work for a dealer and we get rated on how we teach the customers when they sign up or upgrade their service. We don't want unhappy customers come into the store and we don't like to send them to you or COR cause we want their money. So if we inform them how things are and how things will be, they usually come back and don't call you. That's our goal. That should be everyone's goal.

That is because this business pushes a sell first worry later approach. The reps (COR and Dealer) push sales that benefit them rather than make sure that the customer NEVER comes back mad. I worked for Coke for almost 10 years. The customers I saw were the same week after week. If I upset them then I would never get the sales out of them the next week, month, year. It was in my best interest to make sure they knew what was going on and how it would impact them to sell/use my service. I strive to keep the customer in my store and keep them MY customer, not AT&T's customer. I am AT&T in my customer's eyes and any misinformation that I send will cause problems. I want the customer to give my name to people so I get paid for doing the rig...

well, unfortunately some store reps would just sell and have cust care or xbm worry later. they like tell the cusomer that xbm would send them a NEW phone OVERNIGHT free of charge, NO QUESTIONS ASKED...then when the customer calls in, he/she would b**ch around stating that his/her expectation was already set that he/she needs do do nothing...well, we do some troubleshooting first before we send a phone, and if we do this, the customers gets mad/irate, because as i have said, he/she was already mi...
