it is a guarunteed free phone, just unfortunately because they get new phones in stock and remove phone from the stock all the time, it is impossible to put a guaruntee on the make and model. but im sure as time passes the CCRs would be a little bit more knowledgable

Sorry to tell you this but that info isn't entirely accurate. To qualify for the customer first promise all you need is a 2yr contract with a rate plan of 39.99 or higher. All terms and conditions of ATT service apply and you will guaranteed new activation pricing EVERY yr in exchange for a new 2yr contract. This means you can choose ANY phone you want and you will be eligible for acquisition pricing. Mail in rebate is not required and the discounts for acquisition pricing is almost always above $100 unless the phone is only worth about $100.

Thats just the terms and conditions Skins. And your stupid New Every Two customers have to wait TWO years, not one. Mail in rebates whatever, they're safer for the business in the long run duh. Theres other discounts we might give including instant rebates and mere credit towards prices depending on situation, etc.. depending on time and date but you're GAURANTEED a free phone, if sometimes with a MIR, so be it.

We do not force anybody to change anything. If someone buys a new phone we require them to change to a newer plan, this is to make sure customers are on the plans that best suit both us and them, and if the are on a Family plan they do not have to change anything. Also if that was the case why do we still offer a complete national plan. You can roam anywhere in the US regardless of who's network you use.

It's probably in the fine print like Sprint's "No roaming charge plan." If you pay $35 a month for 150 minutes and use them all off network, Verizon will not like it because they have to pay someone else for their customer using another company's tower. In some cases it could cost Verizon money and they will kick you off the plan if that is the case. Probably a 50% on-network requirement or something.

No I assure you they can roam all off network and we will not do anything. I gaurantee go by a store and check the National plan brochure. Take a look at a contract it says nothing about making you change if you roam complete off network.

I know first hand as I work for the company.(VZW) I have read the contract backwards and foward and we will not do anything if the usage if off the network. I know many customers who work for large companies and travel throughout the US. The things is that since we have such a large network it rarely happens that they are off our network. So let your company run things that way and VZW will continue to dominate the market.

And we have used this part of the contract. When you have a customer calling in every 5 minutes and only speaking to females and asking very personal question what are you supposed to do, and if got a male on the phone he would just hang up and call back until he got a female. Most of the time we suspend and call the customer and send them letters asking they cease their actions. We give them plenty of opportunity to keep their service.

Thanks for the link, but what does this have to do with the merger? I realize all VZW reps believe that their company is the best- hands down- and they have a few good points they bring across. But GSM is a different type of service than CDMA and has a few features that they can boast of as well.

I really do not think there will be much of an impact on VZW. I do know a few Cingular customers where I used to live in Northern VA that do not like ATT at all, and would switch to VZW it something like this was to happen. I think you would find that a lot of customer would leave to go to another carrier because of a merger. Some people left a company for a reason and would not want to go back to them in any way.
As far as a meger between Cingular and ATT goes, I really do not see the FCC allowing this to happen. It reduces the amount of choices for customers. Right now you have 6 choices and for the most part it is pretty even, if you put two together it it now reduces the choices for customers.

I'm not so sure 5 choices in Mobile carriers is really that bad. Most likely you dont have 6 choices for TV or Telephone. Internet is a different story, you have many choices there, except if you have to have cable modem, then you are limited to the cable provider in your area.

But the Market is competitive right now, to reduce the choices the consumers have is not a bad thing to the companies but there are gropups out there that fight to make sure there are enough choices for the consumer.
