In a test of seven mobile phone music devices, based on music feature quality, menu/UI, keypad, display and style/design, the Samsung Cingular SYNC outscored its competition in every category.

"Participants were overwhelmingly satisfied with the performance and visual appeal of the Samsung Cingular SYNC," said Pamela De Luca of Strategy Analytics. "Additionally, they appeared to be very comfortable using the device as a music player and were quite capable of carrying out in a timely manner the tasks that were presented to them. The Motorola V3i (RAZR) and the Nokia N91 were also rather well received by these participants."

On the downside, the LG VX8500 "Chocolate" received the lowest marks in almost every category.

not disputing it but how many people they poll on this and all that. Kind of limited facts in the article!

So if the article had placed Cingular last, would you dispute that?

Just curious...The only time I see anything disputed on this site is when it comes to Cingular...

If tracphone had a music phone and it got good remarks and was ahead of Cingular, it would be praised as a valid test...but let Cingular finish high or first in any test and people start questioning the test, whether the testers were paid etc...and most of that comes from people that never use Cingular or have ever used Cingular...

Not attacking you wombough, just musing out loud...

no I don't care what it says. I don't listen to much to that stuff anyway. But at least CR gives you how many people were used to test and were and all that. That is what I meant!

Interesting. I wonder if they tested it against the Sony Ericsson Walkman phones like the W810i or the W300i. I don't have one (yet) but it's my understanding that they both have excellent music players.

This is surprising. I think if you consider "out of the box" usability, the sony wins hands down in comparison to the rest. The music functionality is much better than the samsungs considering you can use all features of the phone while listening to music.

It didnt even say if the w810 was even included in the test. It surely would best the SYNC, IMO...

Is their anymore data on this poll/survey? Need to see more before I believe it; I to think the W810i is a better music phone hands down.
