a new cingular phone that can be programmed with special ring tones for forwarded land line calls

I'm a happy Cingular customer who needs a new phone. I have three separate land lines at my business that I ALWAYS ALWAYS forward to my
cell phone. I need a new cell phone that I can program to ring differently to indicate which of my LAND LINES a customer is calling, *not*
simply ring according to their "originating" number from which they're calling.

Can someone out there recommend the perfect phone for me? I need to upgrade right away and will appreciate any advice you can give! Thanks! 🤣

I'm guessing the 3 landlines all have 3 different numbers. Therefore I'm presuming it would be like 3 different numbers calling your cellphone, so you could just assign unique ringtones to each line.......thinking....well on 2nd thought, since the lines are forwarded to your cellphone, your landline number wouldnt show up, it would be the actual caller's number showing up. My final answer is there is no phone that can do what you are wanting it to do, at least not 3 lines. Some phones I believe can do 2 lines...but dont quote me on that.

Hey Ichyhot- thanks- do you know "which" kind/brand of phone might be able to handle 2 lines? And yes, all three land lines have separate numbers. Are you in the phone industry/biz by any chance?

Hello,

Question, Say you forward a landline to a cellphone. When someone calls the landline can the call be picked up at the landline before it goes to the celly?

Thanks

---umm, maybe, if they were super fast. When I forward any land line, that phone makes about 'half' a ring, then the cellphone rings, showing the number the caller is dialing from.

Why do you ask? Might you have an idea to help me?

Ringtone id is based on the caller id being passed through to the cellphone from the landline carrier.

Sounds like you receive the original callers id, correct?

The phone has absolutely no way of knowing which line is doing the forwarding. It is a function of the landline provider.

Sorry.

Hi Texaswireless:
Yep, you understand my situation exactly. I receive the original callers' id.

All I'm asking for in this lifetime is to be able to answer each incoming, forwarded call from each of my three separate land lines with an appropriate greeting.

Is this really too much to ask of this amazing, mindblowing cell phone industry? I am SO NOT going to carry around three separate cell phones!

It would be SO awesome if someone developed a phone that showed BOTH the caller's id AND indicated which of my land lines they called. I'd spend extra money on it for that feature alone!

I'll just have to dream.

I'm sure if it had to do with the cell phone industry they would develop something to perform that function. It really is your landline company to whom you would want to express your desires.

I must have missed the part of that situation that would require you to carry three different cell phones?

Are you still looking for a phone that will take your forwarded calls? If so you might want to try Motorola they have a wide varity of phones if you want to know the model I would suggest V365 go to Hellomoto.com to purchase without a two year contract or try the Slver 7 same site to get the phone. I hope this helps, that is if you're still looking.

I can forward land line calls to ANY cellphone. What I want from a new cell phone is for it to show what land line the call(s) are being forwarded through. My phone only shows the original number the caller is calling from.
