If i get a Moto V3x and use it in Southern Cali on California will it show me roaming?

I may be getting a V3x soon and i heard if i use it on Cingular network the phone will be roaming, is this true? Ill be using the phone in Southern California in the Inland empire(92336). The phone doesnt have the 850mhz band.

Yup, if im not mistaken Cingular moved over to ATTWS's 850 band and sold their 1900 band to TMo. Don't they have quad band versions of the v3x though.

NO, theres not a quadband version of this phone. Another reason I didnt think there would be a problem with reception is because my friend bought a sk65 off of ebay and it does not have a 850mhz band and he gets reception everywhere in southern California.(He lives a mile away from me and is also on the cingy network.)

Well that should answer your question. I could have sworn I saw someone in this forum post that Cingular uses 850 in Cali now and sold the 1900 to TMo. When I lived out in SoCal (a couple of years ago), they used 1900 band.

Im still unsure though because I dont want roaming charges while im in my home calling area.

You wont get roaming charges in your area. When Cingular split off the 1900 network to T-Mobile, they have an agreement to allow Cingular customers usage until sometime in 2008. So for now it will work without 850...
