Any More Nokias for Cingular?

KaizenBOS

With the 6126 supposedly being cancelled by Cingular, as well as the discontinuation of a couple of phones from their current lineup (recently), does anyone know if there are any new Nokias coming? I read somewhere on here that there was a rumor about Motorola paying Cingular to offer more of their phones, or at least make them the only manufacturer in their lineup to have quad-band. There was also no word on the 6282 (UMTS). Also, any new Nokias I came across were either smartphones, or those not designated for NA. Does anyone (from either Cingular or Nokia) know of anything about more Nokia phones? 🙂

On the website earlier today, the 6061 and 6102 weren't on the lineup. But when I checked again on the website a little while ago, the 6102 seemed to have returned but the 6061 was gone. I don't know if this is a nationwide thing, or a regional one. But I am sure that both phones were not on there before.

6061 is disc, 6126 probably has been taken off lineup and that kills me. i swear if thats true about moto wanting to be only quad band phone, im going to be pissed. even tho it hardly effects me cause I never leave the country but it gives moto another edge in the states as far as market penetration. I am a nokia fan hands down, there are jsut too many problems with motorola phones and their software today.

I think that Motorola rumor is silly. Both the LG CU500 and Samsnug ZX20 are quad band (and HSDPA) and have been released in July and August. Every manufacturer wants to see only their phones sold, quad band or not.

I read somewhere that the 6126 had issues with the screen - it was very fragile and would crack easily, so Nokia is reworking on it. But maybe Cingular is canning it permanently??

Also, if that is true that Motorola is paying Cingular extra to be exclusive quad band provider, that would be a travesty. Motorola phones suck and are pieces of garbage!! If they don't carry Nokias or limited models of Nokia, then I'll just purchase unlocked Nokias off their website. They usually have high end phones that are cooler than what Cingular rolls out anyway, and work just as well on Cingy's network.

I'm trying to find out if Cingy is rolling out the Nokia N80 (smartphone) soon or not???
