๐Ÿ˜ฒ WHAT? ๐Ÿ˜ณ
If that's the case I think they should just forget about the phone altogether. What is going on with this phone? Problems?

Part of this is my theorizing, but it is based on factual information from a real source with direct knowledge of the negotiations.

As I previously have posted the V3i is listed at $375 cost on our price sheets. That puts the handset at around $279-$299 with a two year agreement.

Compared to the current price of the RAZR the thinking is Motorola and Cingular need to do something that will bring the price down to $199-$249.

Now, my theory...

The game is Motorola needs Cingular to commit to a very large purchase of the V3i to get the price lower. While the ROKR and SLVR were nice phones, they did not fly off the shelves as do the current RAZR handsets, thus the apprehension on the part of Cingular. Remember, both RAZR handsets ...

I agree that cingular needs to get those phones at a less cost, I know other carriers that get the Razr V3m for under 250 at cost. I do not know what other pricing is out there.

The V3m for Verizon dealers is around $340. The price just requires V-Cast and a high plan to get the low subsidized price.

Very true I have heard some of the same stuff. Cingular has learned pricing a phone at above 199 on a two year is dangerous. The ROKR did not do as well as expected. The L-7 has done better but has not flown off the shelves. The E2 is a nice and Cingular wants to have the first Linux phone. There is a lot of apprehension on the part of Cingular about that phone. Look for cingular to launch the v3i soon I have even heard they will copy Verizon on the V3m. The hot phone right now is the e70 I keep hearing about it. Palm is kicking ass with the new Treo's. Expect the treo's sooner than expected.
