PRIVACY WARNING TO CUSTOMERS!! Internet and Video now - Are you next?
David Lazarus
AT&T has issued an updated privacy policy that takes effect Friday. The changes are significant because they appear to give the telecom giant more latitude when it comes to sharing customers' personal data with government officials.
The new policy says that AT&T -- not customers -- owns customers' confidential info and can use it "to protect its legitimate business interests, safeguard others, or respond to legal process."
The policy also indicates that AT&T will track the viewing habits of customers of its new video service -- something that cable and satellite providers are prohibited from doing.
Moreover, AT&T (formerly known as SBC) is requiring custom ...

Word of mouth is powerful.
That was just mean.

I think I'm over it now, though still a tad bit upset.
The tempting thing to say is, "Get a helmet, Princess."
But that's sort of harsh too.
Well there you have it folks... words spoken either in ignorance or youth.
I suspect not, for had you, your comments would have had some substance.
Personally, no, I'm not scared.
At&t is testing the waters with a policy like this and is most likely acting slowly to monitor the response to such policies before rolling them out further.

Famous last words if I have ever heard them.

For all that's been communicated to me about this, you could very well be right. Odds are, no one from corporate will ever come down and poll us about it. If the change does get applied to Cingular, we'll find out about it at the last minute. Or it's possible we won't be told about it until after it's happened.

AT&T wireless was better b4 cingular took it over. I don't know why AT&T sold to cingular, they should of stayed where they were. Now all of the AT&T customers are having problems with their phones because they aren't on the "new" cingular network, so its causing their calls to drop, and coverage where it use to be isn't there anymore. Very frustrating 🙄

AT&T Wireless (may that wonderful company rest in peace) was spun off from the old AT&T in 2001 and thier CEO came to the conclusion that the wireless carrier would not last on its own and that they would have to sell themselves to another carrier. So in Early 2004 they put thems...

It did look good (Sprint buying Nextel) on paper, though.

Sprint is the oddball of the group. The wireless division was flourishing and the wireline services were floundering and after the acquisition of Nextel, Sprint PCS decided to go solo.

Oh! I did not know that Sprint PCS spun off of Sprint, which renamed itself Embarq.
This oddly reminds me of AT&T Wireless being spun of from AT&T in 2001. I wonder if Sprint PCS will ultimately have the same fate as the old AT&T Wireless? But probably not since the Aug...
