Verizon Rumor

BeachSlapped

An area manager told me that Vz is aiming at markets where we're having issues due to networks being integrated to brag about about how their network is more reliable and stuff. Do you think is true? It sounds like a nice marketing move an all, but this is coming from the same man who told me that by March 06 we would have giving all customers who upgrade to new equipment 128K sim cards! ๐Ÿ˜•

***AS I PUT MY ANTI-FLAME BATTLE SUIT***
And what markets are these? The only thing they can brag about is the fact that they have 3G in more markets than us. This soon will change BTW
Service is pretty much the same -if not better- in most metropolitan areas.
Oh! and doesn't Sprextel have more 3G markets than VZ? I heard this somewhere... (perhaps a Sprint commercial, I forgot)

It really depends on who you ask.

The only thing slowing down the 3G (UMTS) rollout was integrating the network (which is just about done).

I think Verizon is going to milk the reliable claim for as long as they can(which will change soon enough).

Beavis: "Huh Huh, Verizon sucks, Huh Huh"
Butt-head: "Huh huh, Cingular sucks, Huh huh."

That is the level of your conversation, except it isn't remotely as funny.

Coverage? Only if they use USCC towers. As far as I know Verizon does not have licence in Oklahoma. Coverage maybe but they can't sell here. (I could be wrong, I'm a long way away from Tulsa and they might have it since Arkansas does)

Cingular has no license for my state. Nor can you make a call with one of their phones. Alltel stopped letting them roam off of their towers. It's nice when school starts because a bunch of out of state students come in and say, "Whenever I try to make a call, my phone just makes a screeching sound." I say, "You're with Cingular?" They say, "Yep." Then I proceed to make a ton of money because Cingular falsely advertises their coverage.

You are very slow. Cingular and Alltel have a roaming agreement. Cingular is a GSM carrier and Alltel is CDMA/analog. GSM does not have any analog in it at all. Alltel and Cingular have a roaming agreement that involves analog roaming only roaming. which GSM phones do not support. The only Cingular customer that can pick up alltel are the TDMA customers. Your brain is not working right.

Cingular phones worked up here for a while. They roamed off Alltel towers. Alltel said they couldn't do that any more. Now Cingular phones don't work here. That is what I know.

Well I found out recently that all of a sudden, without any fanfare, we're roaming on VzW. Our area is a geographical challenge for cell service, and previously we roamed on Dobson. Now our phones are blocked from using a Dobson signal.Personally I didn't think cross technology GSM to CDMA was possible but I did confirm this with both Cingular and VzW, on a three way call to Tech Support. I haven't found any down side to this, and the calls routed through VzW do not show as Follow Me. We were supposed to also roam on T-Mo, but there isn't any signal of theirs in this area. Curious, don't you think?

LOL, Cingular has the "fewest dropped calls"! Now where is poor old Verizon going to find an area where Cingular is having "network issues". After all, " a leading independent research company proved it". ๐Ÿ˜
