Possible Cingular Newbie
I'm thinking about joining Cingular, mainly for the ability to buy any GSM phone and swap the sim without having to go through cst svc. Some questions and concerns are:
1) Can I buy any unlocked or cingular locked GSM phone, even if it's used in Europe (say off Ebay) and not available in the US?
2) Text/Pic msg - Is there a unlimited or near unlimited plan?
3) Will Cing one day offer the circle of friends deal?
4) What is the fastest data servc available now, UMTS or 3G?

My area is North Carolina and can we get the video conferencing phone or does there have to be an actual data service for it to work?
Also what would be an example of a good durable phone that has great digital camera and picture quality?

Toi know if you can get the video conferencing phones you can go to cingular.com and enter your zip code and if it shows the two phones they have which are the LG CU350 or the Samsung ZX10 then you can if not you can't, any nokia phone is a good durable phones as well as any Mtorola phone

I did a search and neither of the LG CU350 or Samsung ZX10 are available for purchase in my zipcode, but I thought neither of these phones were available for any cingular market just yet until they are released? I really like the Samsung model.

those models are only available in areas where 3G has been launched, once all markets are launched then you will be able to ourchase it in your area

2) No. But there is a 3000 msg plan for 19.99 (as previously stated) and I believe we (Cingular) no longer makes a difference between SMS and MMS, so thay all come from the same bucket for the same pric...
