No i will tell you what happended: On January 6 of this year I received a call from one of our customers. He was upset and immediately asked for a manager. I apologized to him for the wait time and used my soft skills to try and find out what his concern was to see if i could resolve it without having to get my manager. He just kept insisting on a mgr so I told him unfortunately all managers were in a meeting right now but that I would go and find a lead for him. I asked to place him on hold so I did and gave him an estimated wait time for four to five mins. I went to find a lead but they were all assisting other people because there were over five hundred people in the call center and only a handful of leads. When I came back to tell t...

In a right to work state, whether you are union or not, you can be fired with or without warning (at will employment). Been around unions over 40 years (my father was a regional VP for the USWA (Steelworkers)...
2 sides to every story and you might be the one person that was test called (secret shopper) and to make a statement to their teams, they used you as a scapegoat...

Without going into a deep political discussion, you hit the nail on the head, your vote made the choice that you are living with.
You have now landed with a good employer in Cox with seemingly better benefits...
Just because Cingular crapped on you, don't diss the phone service.
Time to tapp in the secrets of the millionaire mind and create your own wealth...that way money work for you and not you working for the money...

Yeah I do after sixty days i get what is called Cox courtesy services. which is the top tier packages for Digital Cable, High Speed Internet, and Cox Telephone. Also I gets discounts on SprintNextel, Cingular, T-mobile, and Verizon Wireless. Also discounts on Ford Motors, General Motors, Daimler-Chrysler, Mitsubishi, ADT, Dell, Apple, Etc. Also being a Division of Cox Enterprises has its benefits as well. I break down the courtesy services to give you an idea. The normal consumer would pay over one hundred and twenty dollars for the top tier package on digital cable, I pay twenty dollars. For High Speed Internet to get the Premium package which gives speed of up to nine mps then consumer would pay fifty-five dollars. I pay a total of fif...

My guess they are getting rid of you bc of your tenured pay. Now before all of you slam me for that comment, Ive been seeing where they could care less how many tenured reps they lose, bc they are jsut replacing them with people at a much lower hourly pay.

Bottom line, Cingular just doesnt seem to value tenure and longevity of their employees like they used to, and will do any thing to save some dough here, save some dough there.

I saw that writing on the wall summer 2005, ESPECIALLY when it relates to former blue employees.
Being damned good and among tops in a particular center in performance and all seemed not to matter one little bit either. It seemed like they would turn up the BS level to make the tenured reps want to leave. There were people leaving my center 3-5, one time SEVEN at a time and all bumping into one another at interview dates for a new job. Every day now I receive a text/email/IM about someone else who has left or gotten fired on some BS. I like Cingular as a wireless CARRIER, only for being reliable enough for me to continue not having a landline phone, but damned if I would DREAM of telling someone that working there would be a good idea.

I am going to have to agree with you. It may have been that the orignal poster was on the chopping block for that reason for quite some time and they needed some type of excuse (no matter how minor) to let him go.

Sad, because now Cingular is down another good emoployee and has probably hired a temp rep to work his place for 8 dollars an hour.
