so they spent 6 billion changing the name to cingular now they are going to spend another 2 billion just to explain why they are changing back...when are they going to spend this kind of money on the network?

They spent nowhere near $6 billion to change the name to Cingular. Where did you get that figure from?

$6 billion is what Cingular spent on the network last year. Not branding.

If my memory serves me, Cingular spent in the hundred million range on rebranding.

Yea.. sometime between the end of this year, and the beginning of next. I'd like to assume it would be after christmas, but you never can tell. They may do it before christmas so the marketing blitz gets the new name out there(even if it would confuse tons of people)
