YEAH! Yuma AZ, we're most reliable there, good thing, since snow birds and idiots/tweakers need cell phones too!

Hey, Yuma is where the Marines go to train. We need a pretty good network there for them to call home to their loving families.

Or, wait a second, you aren't bashing on our soldiers are you? Oh I think you are mister, you better watch what you say, traitor.

This convinces me not to believe a word of Telephia's findings. I can speak from personal and extensive experience in every single city listed here in FL that Cingular DOES NOT work better than Verizon. Yes, I've used both services in these areas numerous times and there is absolutely NO comparison. Verizon has better call quality without a doubt. And because every single FL city on this list is BS, I would tend to believe that EVERY city on this list is BS. It's one thing to inflate your results to make your company look a "little" better. This is so blatantly without merit that it's a joke.

Have you recently used both companies, each with current handsets?

You don't even have to answer that.

Yes. I have. My personal line is with Cingular, my cell through work is with VZW. I have TWO active cell phones and I live in FL. I hardly ever even use my Cingular phone anywhere because my VZW gets better signal. I have family members who have Cingular too, and yes, sometimes we get the crazy notion to travel through the state together. I've used their Cingular handsets too, and they get crappy reception as well. MANY people have multiple carriers. Wake up.

Yes. On CSP they say "All Cingular employees are required to go on phonescoop and post propaganda about our network and how amazing it is, at least 3 hours a day."

There are a number of reasons (that unlike on a CDMA phone) a customer could experince problems. To name a few:
-Using a 32k SIM
-Not having the right IMEI on the account.
-Using a TDMA-GAIT phone on a GSM plan
-Using a TDMA phone on a GSM plan (I have been seeing this A LOT lately) It really p#@!^$#%$ me off 😡
-Blue customers who have not migrated, they DO NOT have cingular phone nor 64K SIM, so they are not completely taking advantage of the merger.

And which type of SIM chip?

If you are using an older phone with a 32k chip then yeah, it probably won't work as well as a current phone (ENS capable) with a 64k SIM chip.

You answered half his question.

Most of the west FL was ATT territory. East FL was Cingy's territory. (By this I mean service before the merger was better: West FL= ATT East FL =Cingy) 😎

I have to agree with qagirl on this one. I go to California ALOT... probably about every other week and I will tell you that Cingular's coverage in California as a whole is aweful. Not because the network isn't bad, its because of LOAD... Static out the a$$.

Also, to say Cingular has the best network in Wilmington DE, I can give you the names of about 40 friends that live in Wilmington that either have Cingular or have had Cingular and they will all tell you its a step above mediocre.

Now the South, I can understand because Cingular is based out of the south and thats where they built their network out first. But to include all of these NE and Western cities when I know from personal experience Cingular is from being the best, is ...

Can You Believe Me Now? Truth Rare in Phone Ads
By BRUCE MOHL
The Boston Globe

Cingular Wireless is running ads everywhere saying it has the fewest dropped calls of any cellular phone carrier, but what's missing from the massive campaign is evidence to back up the claim.

In its print, TV, radio and billboard ads, Cingular says "the leading independent research company" concluded Cingular has the fewest dropped calls. In the fine print of its newspaper ads, Cingular says the claim is "based on nationwide experience among national carriers."

A Cingular spokeswoman said the research company was Telephia Corp. of San Francisco and referred questions about the study to a spokesman there. The Telephia spokesman declined to provide any i...
