I thought there was an exclusion clause to waive the ETF if the policy holder died. Is this true?

How does it affect other lines on the account?

Specifically, my father-in-law passed away and his contract still has a few months left on it. My wife's phone is on his plan as an additional line, but the contract on it is for a longer period (it was added later than the original).

Can we get his phone cancelled without the ETF and just make her phone the primary line until the contract is up? Does she have to assume the rest of the contract, or is there a way we can cancel the whole plan without ETF? How about just splitting her off to her own contract for the remainder of the current agreement and dropping his name?

Any help is ...

if the account was in your father in-laws name then you can cancel all lines without the ETF you should only need to provide a death certificate.

sorry to hear about the loss.... when their is a death all lines can be canceled without any penalty . If you guys want to keep some of the lines they need to be switched over in to that persons name via a transfer of service and you will not be charged the 18.00 fee also you DO NOT nee the death certificate we do not ask for that info anymore .. hope this hepls
