Connection Error on certain phone numbers

Can anyone think of a reason that my week old Cingular phone (Nokia 6682) is refusing to dial a certain land line exchange (616 654 xxxx)?

I am able to call any other number, but my office phone numbers don't work. I get a "Connection Error" or "Network Busy" error, accompanied by a series of three tones (like you would get on a land line if a number has been changed or disconnected).

I called Cingular and they are looking into it. I tried resetting my phones setting back to default and that didn't help. They claim to have an answer by Monday the 27th...but that is a long time to be unable to call any of my coworkers.

Thanks

Just an update...

I did get a call from someone at Cingular who is investigating the issue. Hopefully they can figure it out quickly!

What is an LRM issue?

They still haven't corrected it...

They mentioned something about setting up a new switch in the Grand Rapids area recently, and thought that may be related.

Another update - I got a call from a different person today (woman this time rather than a man), and this call came from a Chicago area code. Yesterday, they called from a Dallas area code.

They put some kind of trace on the line, and she told me to call the number twice, and then she said she would call me back. That was about 3 hours ago.

She also mentioned that they might need to get AT&T/SBC on the line at the same time to see if they could help... 😕

My friend has a GA number, but he lives in FL. Anyway, Everytime I call him I get "The number you're trying to reach is not a working number" (I know it's not cuz most of the times I returning his phone call right away) I usually get that "disconnected message the very first time I call him. If I redial I get through. What's up with that? Has anyone heard this before?
Puzzled....

In the LA area, I get a lot of "the wireless subscriber you are trying to reach is not available. Please try again later" messages. This is even when calling my own office landline which has my secretary sitting by the phone. I sometimes try the number 2 or 3 times before giving up on my Cingular RAZR phone. Then I'll call on my Verizon LG phone and the call goes right through. Same thing happens when calling other numbers or actual wireless lines. Any ideas out there? The reason I have both services right now is to compare them before deciding whether to switch my VZ service to Cingular. It acts as if the Cingular network is over loaded and simply doesn't connect some calls, but gives this erroneous message instead of just saying that the n...
