The Annoying Buzz.. Old topic, sore subject

How does cingular sell phones with this annoying problem...

I can't believe their is not a sticky on this forum.... Had I know about this... I would have passed on cingular or any GSM carrier..

When I do a search their is not a lot of people complaining about the buzz a cingular/gsm phones make

When my wife and I first got our phones I thought a land line phone at a clients site had gone bad. When I realized it was my phone causing the noise I was embarrassed to tell anyone.

You probably won't notice the noise as much if you don't use a Data phone like a smartphone.

When I am trying to connect to the internet or checking my email the buzz is pretty noticeable. It's even worse when I use the phone to connect to the inter...

The only time I've heard a buzz is when any (GSM or CDMA) wireless phone is close to a cheap set of computer speakers that have no RF shielding...

Unfortunately customer service was correct, that is a common problem among ALL carriers. CDMA/GSM/iDen will all cause it. Depends on the frequency the carrier is using in your area as well as the RF shielding on the speakers. Also you might notice cell phones can cause interference on some older CRT monitors as well.
