They will kick him out because of the 'being honest' interview he did in admitting Cingy's faults and owning up to being behind in VZW in EVERYTHING except subscriber counts....

well all carriers have faults and that the top managment understands that. if they outline the faults and have a solution to fix it, i think it is best to give him extra time (6-12 months) to prove himself and then if he doesnt then say see ya.

Indeed, that is the right thing to do. But, in the world of 'Nothing could ever happen to GM', those days are over.

GM, i hope you dont mean General Motors Corporation, becuase they are a horrible company. everyone knew that they were bad especially with the cost of health care and pensions, not anymore lol, and other costs per car. they are doomed.

Latest: (after the labor cutting, Delphi parts debacle, healthcare/pension issue, GM stock close to 'junk' status, exec salary cut, & poss sale of GMAC Finance, etc, etc)

The bonus' for exec mgmt (also brought, I believe, by the largest billionaire shareholder Kirk whatever begins with a 'K') was slashed (stock options, div payouts). That billionaire wants them all (exec) to feel the pain of poor results and failing marketshare.

Now, I know comparing Cingy/ATT & GM is like comparing apples & nipples but results are results... Six to twelve months? Is that six to twelve months from when Sigman had the interview outlining VZW being better or six months prior to that six months when they realized the problem?

lol you dont have to tell me about GM and Delphi becuase i follow that whole situation..

fyi, its Kirk Kerkorian.

well, lol, i wouldnt compare cingy/att to GM lol.. hahah. in 6-12 months GM would probably be facing more downgrades and probably in the chapter 11 range, obviously cingular wont.

so what time frame would you give him?

I don't. If the DOJ & FCC bless this union by the end of the year (which I see them doing), let Eddy (Whitacre) add the wireless segment to his echelon... Put Stan in charge of setting up new MVNOs....

All in all, its not really benficial to have to separate (from a corp identity point of view) wireless from wireline from data. The fact is you're a subscriber of ATT. I just happen to have such and such from them...

well people are saying within 12 months, but it could be sooner, however, im not sure that will happen with a merger this big. many people will be involved so the regulators have to do a good job at this...

interesting idea with edd and stan's placements.

interesting..

he already outlined the problems, but now he has to ask on it and fix it.. i guess bell south should give him a 6-12 month time period in order for him to prove himself then if he doesnt give him the pink slip with a nice golden parachute. lol.

"Online Extra: Getting Cingular Up to Speed
CEO Stanley Sigman talks about the challenges of the AT&T Wireless merger and how he plans to catch up with Verizon Wireless

Cingular Wireless CEO Stanley Sigman has little appetite for taking the megaphone and blasting the good word about his company right now. There's simply too much work to do. Since taking the reins at the joint venture owned by SBC Communications () and BellSouth () in 2002, he has been, well, singularly devoted to turning a good wireless company into a top-notch one. But C...
