They won't leave me alone!!!

Ok, so, I switched over to Sprint a few months back, and took my last line over in December. I got a bill, paid that, and thought that was that. I got another bill from Cingular!! It's for $0.28! My stupid brother sent a text message the last of the billing cycle, and since Cingular's slow as Christmas getting their billing done, it didn't get put on the last bill.

Now I have to spend $0.45 to pay a $0.28 bill. Nice. I know, this is just a wasted post, but I just had to vent and no one's around or up to vent to. I do miss the awesome phones Cingular has. Well, I have a Treo 650 now, which Cingular has. Love it. It's awesome. The reception has been better though, since I've switched to Sprint.

I can't! Since I closed my account, I don't have access to it. I can't pay at H-E-B, well, I can, but they charge $2.00. I think the Cingular store charges also, because we have A LOT of people coming to pay their bills. It's really just an annoyance. I can pay it, but it's silly, for such a small amount, I have to waste my time writing out the check, wasting a stamp, and driving to the post office.

the funny thing is, if you don't pay it by the due date, you'll owe 5.28 next month lol

Why would you think that you shouldn't have to pay for service used??? Regardless of the amount.

I'm not saying I shouldn't have to pay it. It's costing Cingular more just to bill and process. It's funny. I really wouldn't mind if I could pay online instead of having to write out a check.

Just call in, the automated system dont know the difference between 5 cents and 5 dollars. One look at it by a rep and its credited off.

Dude, send them a check for 29 cents, that way they have to send you one back for a penny. I did that to my cable company one time. And yes, I got the penny back.

when i work there anything like that i would just credit off and be one with it.. any sensible rep will do that for you.. if they refuse.. try and escalate on you.. no supervisor will take an escalation for .28

EXACTLY......NO questions...they will wipe of the 28 cents right away. Have you even just thought to call them in the first place?? All of the griping your doing (i understand your frustration) but it is not neccessary....call and they will remove it to clear the account....its NOT an issue at all!!!!

Nah, I haven't called. They weren't open when I got the bill. I'm not really upset with it, just find it a bit amusing that the bill is so small and over a month after I've closed my account. And I'd rather send them a check or something, just in case. I'd hate to have a rep say it's been credited, and then get a bill next month with late charges or something.

Uhh, I'm going to over pay, not not pay. But either way, they should've charged me during the billing cycle in which it happened.

I used to be a cingular CSR. I assure you that if you call customer care they will credit the 28 cents to clear your account with no question. 🤣

Ha, that's what I thought, but I actually like them, except for the phone selection. The main reason I switched was because the signal in our area turned from pretty good to terrible, for a few months. Cingular didn't know how long it would take to fix it or what was wrong with it. I get a 25% discount from Sprint, through work, so I went to them. So far, so good, but that's in my area.

waht 😕 sprint has some of the the hottest phones out right now. the 920, 900, and 7500 are a few of the high-end one that kick but. the 8300 is a hot mid-end phone. maybe you should check out the selection now.

When I signed up, none of those were out, so I bought the 8300. It was a pretty good phone, but I wanted more, so I sold it and bought a Treo 650. Love it. I'm glad Treo makes phones for different carriers, because if I ever do go back to Cingular, I can pick up another Treo.

Ok, and an update. I realized that since my bill came so close to it being due, and by the time it got there, I may end up with a late fee. A small one, but I didn't want to deal with another month.

I called and asked where I could pay this thing for free, since I can't log onto my account anymore online. She let me do it over the phone, paid the $.28, and it's all over and done with.

Too bad, I really wanted to do the $.20 extra on the check thing.

...and your point is...?

Welcome to the world of companies who bill. The computer system recognizes a charge, it creates a bill. The same thing has happened to me several times before with several companies. I called them, the rep saw the charge and laughed about it, and took it off. Simple as that. Quit whining.

I hate whiners...specially when they dedicate a whole thread to it. If you need 28 cents I can mail it to you but I will want you to reinburst me for the 32 cent stamp. Hope that helps...

Wow, why's everyone mad. It was meant to be a facitious thread anyway. I just think it was funny, I had been trying to get out of my contract for a few months after their towers went bad and Cingular didn't know how to fix them. I finally get away, pay my final bill, and I'm done. I shred everything reguarding Cingular and throw away any generic Cingular items. Then what happens?

I get another bill from them, for a lame $0.28. And of course, as is always the case with Cingular, the bill was due about a week from when I received it.

I've paid it, didn't even have to send a stamp. I did call in and ask about it and where I can pay it for free, and the rep didn't take it off, they took my checking account number and took the paym...

Who said I was whining. Just thought it was funny, and a bit annoying. When you think you've finally cut all ties to a company...

Here come a bill, due a week later, for $0.28. And, my guess, the payment will process AFTER the due date and I'll get another bill, for $0.04 in late charges.
