correct me if im wrong....but doesn't something actually have to be in the phone for it to work with cingular's Kodik ptt...not just software which I know that has to be there...but im sure there is an extra chip or circuit that is required to be embedded on the device for the ptt to work.

I dont know the specifics but logic would say that in order to use PTT you would have to have a PTT phone. Not just because of software but the acual hardware. PTT phones have a push to talk button or softkey that you have to press in order to utilize it. I couldnt imagine any other way to utilize it unless the software you got from warez(adware/virus central) makes the phone reconize a softkey already on the phone. Even then it still sounds like BS. On top of that assuming this worked, your now running on the kodiak network and your info would be visible, including sim# and features on your account...Its an interesting idea though.

Even if u somehow got the software. Cingular would not let u do it. You must have a capable IMEI for the feature to work. Plus letting u do that would be a violation of the software deal with KODIAK.

Most phones are capable of using Kodiak, and its software on the phones and specialized hardware on the cingular side.

I know but Cingular has a vested interest in not letting u do that.
