Switching Over from Verizon

Hey All,

just wanted to see what everyone thought about me switiching over to cingy from vzw. i am a little weary of cingys service in the tri state area specifically Long Island. I was used to great service with vzw. My mom has cingy and her phone always seems to have a lot of static. i truly hope this is not the case with my cingy 2125 (the real reason i switched). Should i be worried and or should I wait for the Moto Q to come out for vzw? thoughts, comments, concerns.

Use Cingular's 30 day trial, the longest in the industry. If service does not meet your expectations, return the phone and cancel and you will not be liable for the termination fee as long as it is finished in the first 30 days. If you can cancel before 3 days, you won't be liable for the activation fee either. No other carrier has a return policy like this.

Why would you need feedback on this? YOU are going to be the one who's going to decide whether works or not for you.

Yes ofcoures you made the right choise! VZW sucks, the static is the phone most likely not the service. I hope you have a good time on the largest all digital network.

dont know about the service in your area but i can tell you that the call quality on the 2125 is great. i've used 4 diffeent smartphones since att wireless first introduced them and all of them had better call quality/clarity then almost all the other phones that were out at the time.

you may think the hump antenna on the 2125 is strange at first but let me tell you, that thing really works!

No one else NEEDS a policy like that.

Its a good thing no one NEEDS a cell phone or cingular would have NO business.

Thats my point.

Recent telephia data rates Cingular higher than VZW in New York/New Jersey. I know that may be hard to believe, but it is true. Hopefully you will have a positive experience, the 2125 is a nice device. Good luck!

I have both carriers. There are some places that one carrier works and the other doesnt. Usually more often than not its Cingular that doesnt get a signal where I need it too, unless its Kentucky then its Cingular all the way 🙂

Stay with Verizon. Remember the first reason you have a phone. To make reliable calls, Everything else is a bonus.

I have Cingy and using the Treo 650 while a co-worker of mine has VZW with Blackberry 7250. We both work and travel within Manhattan and I experience more dropped calls and echoes. Again, this is Manhattan specific. Long Island, upstate, and NJ works fine on Cingy. A specific example that can be recreated is I lose a call going through NJ Transit tunnel under the Hudson between Penn Station and Secaucus Junction while my VZW co-worker keeps talking.
