😁
I have, in my hand, a brand new LG F7200. Our store just recieved two demo's in, and we have them throughout our entire company. I placed my SIM chip in it, and I'm delighted with the results.
Initially when I heard we were launching PTT, I wasn't too excited at all, because I never thought I'd find much use in it or appreciate it. But it turns out that it actually is much more convenient than I initially thought.
The only gripe I have is that my average initial connect time is around 7-8 seconds, much more than reports I've read on here of it being between 3-4.
Oh yeah, and I also don't really like the fact that I'm using an LG phone. I'd rather it be a Nokia.
If anyone wants my push to talk number, e-mail me.

did you get the samsung as your cou line? Our initial connect time started at about 6 seconds, went up to 15, then finally has settled back at 6 seconds. I think this will get faster as the next generation of phones come out...
We actually use ours all the time, I love that PTT works with bluetooth on the samsung 😁

Hey there, do you have any idea if the Nokia 6620 is ptt capable, I did a search here for ptt and it came up, but on the Nokia site it says nothing, same with the cingular site.
...
Sorry I mean the 6682
...
the 6682 overseas is ptt capable however the cingular version is not. i read on forums that even if you purchased the ptt version that it would still not work because the protocol for those phones overseas is different than what cingular uses, but im not sure if thats 100 percent because of the source of the info however i think that it may be correct.

Most of the info here (and on the whole net for that matter) comes from manufacture FCC fillings and trade shows. Just because a manufacture makes a phone in a specific technology doesn't mean a carrier is going to buy it. Same holds true with seeing a carrier logo on a picture or at a show. A whole lot goes into the carriers decision to sell a product. cost, guaranteed DOA rates, RF testing, timelines, initial orders, just to name a few.
Also, once a carrier does finally decide to order, it is customized to the features & menu options the carrier wants. At least with your tier 1 carriers.

i have the 6682 cingular version and it doesnt have the PTT software nore the dedicated button but i also had a d-357 , but what im getting at is that after i set up my PTT name and login a few times with my sam, then went back to my nokia i noticed that i was still availible on the PTT contacts of my co-workers phone so of course i tried it and it actully rings to my nokia and on the actull PTT phone it was still in a ptt convo, when i answerd from the nokia i heard the beep noise that our PTT service makes. then tried to hit buttons to see if i could respond, after a lil guess and check i found that if you hit the # it will start sending your voice to the other phone then youd have to hit * to stop the transmission and then the PTT phone c...

Nope. We use Kodiak, not the same. If I'm not mistaken PTT on the overseas version is POC... similar but different than what we use here in the states.

Thanks for the help. I really want a nokia phone, but I also want PTT and all the bells and whistles. Guess I can't have it all this early in the Cingular Ptt game.
