Phone Exclusives

I was wondering how phone exclusives get to be. Let's say that brand new super duper phone X from company Y is ready for sale. And we will assume that Cell carrier Z wants the exclusive, but the phone is currently being tested by both cell carrier Z and cell carrier A. Does the testing on cell carrer A prevent cell carrier Z from getting the exclusive or does cell carrier Z just need to pay enough money to keep the new phone X from cell carrier A?

Error, does not compute. I guess the question is a little complicated. I was trying to keep it vanilla so that no one thought it was a question about another carrier. Sorry.

🤣 Exclusivity is a lie, the RAZR was a CINGULAR exclusive but 6 mts later it's available for T-Mobile, the same thing in video games GTA San Andreas is available on PS2 the first six months or so then on XBox. the fact is you can no longer make the maximum amount of profit with an exclusive item/product.

Ok, temporary exclusive. Now we are starting to bound our Cell Phone Theory of Relativity. 🙂

I would still put the RAZR into a cellphone anomoly formula... Or a separate letter at least...

Sometimes phone 'X' manufactured by company 'Y' is offered to cell carrier 'A' prior to any testing. Also, sometimes cell carrier 'A' contacts company 'Y' with a , "this is what we're looking for" idea and out pops phone 'X'...

Also, sometimes carrier X equals Y so the derivative of f(x) = X^2 would naturally be the XYZ algorhytmic function of a cell modulation of 2^x KHz. I tried to make it vanilla, let me know what you think.

Yes but what if the phone in question was being tested by another network other than company Y? And assuming that the phone was not specifically developed for that company. Could company Y still get the exclusive as an after thought?

only if MC^2 is equal to Q.

You and ashdizzle should get together. Maybe with the two of you we could come up a with a Cell Phone Theory of Relativity.. 🙂

If it's being tested by a carrier than it probably already passed FCC approval. I believe the phone is already spoken for prior to that step, which we will call the 'C'. No wait, did we use that already? Maybe the 'D'.. Now I know 'S' isn't being used. So phone 'X' pretty much depending on size of carrier (Cingy or VZW size) can say 'X' can become 'S' if... No, now... Wait, I'll write it all down on paper then transfer for it here...

NO! WAIT, now if we're talking about Sprint with their complete exclusivity to the Sanyo plant, than that would have to be... letters please....

Ok, will make this Cell Phone Theory of Relativity even more simple and just stick to GSM. I don't even try to play the cdma game. After all, Verizon has the market on LG POS phones too. And NEXTEL (now part of Sprint) has the market on their iden phones. I know that Boost Mobile exists, but who's really using that garbage anyway. I have yet to meet someone using Boost Mobile. So, let's just stick to GSM for now. Adding CDMA carriers just makes a confusing situation even more confusing. For instance, is the V3c really the RAZR that Cingular had as an exclusive for 6 to 8 months. I don't think so. 🙂

But we're still comparing apples & nipples. With the RAZR (which we will label 'C') it was the overall aesthetic that sent people into a tizzy, not the ingredients... Didn't the original sport a VGA-only camera?

Yes, the original did have a VGA camera and no video capture. And the V551 actually had more function. 🙂

basically it's about money. lol as all of life is.

But it also has something to do with buying agreements for other phone models.

If you want the exclusive on x phone, you will pay a certain amount and agree to purchase y amounts of z phone. This helps two model lines, while giving the carrier a standout phone and a average phone. Cing does it alot, which is why the v55x design is still around.

It also helps the manuf get recognition when the carrier advertises repeadetly x manuf phone (and manuf name) over and over.

I will tell you why some carriers allow this to happen. say carrier C wants to drop a new phone, carrier V knows it's network blows C away so let em have a phone. then after C finds all the bugs, carrier V can release a better version and people with buy it for $450 retail....just my opinion.
