Unlimited Texting

llkoola1

When the heck will Cingular have Unlimited Texting. It's stupid not to have it, expecially with the new LG QWERTY phone for Instant Messaging. What are they trying to do?? Just make money off of people by going over their 2,500 limit of IM messages or text messages? What the heck is wrong with cingular? HURRY UP AND GET UNLIMITED TEXTING ALREADY HOW LONG DOES it take 4 you guys to comprehend that?!?!? All the other major carriers have unlmited texting. And it's cheap to. With VZW it's $5 IN texting. But idk about IM on Verizon. And sprint with power vision you can text all you want plus IM all you want for wut is it $25(power vision) and $10(vision). and tmobile you can get well GPRSIM for wut is it $20.00 plus web access not that bad...but ...

Wow....I completley agree. Cingular needs to get up to parr with text...and ALL i repeat ALL incoming texts should be free....how stupid is it to charge for incoming text??????? Prepaid companies like boost & virgin mobile dont' even charge for incoming text...get w/ it....and ptt will be delayed for all eternity, lets just face it. Cingular you urk me, unfortunately you have the best coverage in my book. 👿

Holy crap....Did anyone get what that said????

All I got out of it was Verizon had sex with Sprint and gave birth to T-Mobile which turned around and stepped on Cingular, shot Verizon, and pinched Sprint's a$$.

Did I get the jist of it? 🤣 🤣 🤣

We are going to Oahu, Maui, and the Big Island. We are staying at 2 Hilton's (Oahu and the Big Island) and the Sheraton (Maui). I can't wait.

The Hilton on the big island has one of the best golf courses in the world on it, and I'm gonna play it. It is a course designed by Robert Trent Jones (one of the best golf course designers ever).

When in Maui...
Take the Hana Highway (goes across the north side of the entire island) to get to Hana and then go south to get to the seven sacred pools. It's worth the trip but it'll take you almost an entire day, so start early (I mean really, really early...like 5-6 am) You can only go about 20 mph on the road for most of the trip, so bring tunes (cd, tapes, etc. radio is kinda hard to get in the mountains) I guarantee you will enjoy.

Make sure you visit the back side of the island (out of Honolulu). I think it is highway 3 going up the central island and then back down the NE coast. Like Like highway takes you through the mountains and back into Honolulu. Beautiful drive, especially in a convertible.

That sounds wonderful, but, we won't be renting a car on Oahu. That is the only island we won't have a car on, but our travel agent said that it is not worth the expense because buses can get you everywhere on that island. I was, however, planning on visiting the side of the island you were speaking of.

Let me just say that a bus versus a car will be well worth the experience. There are lots of cool little places to stop and check out and you just can't do that with the bus. The buses will be ok for visiting anything else but the "island drive" is best on your own.

I thought so too....but every travel agent we speak to is extremely against renting a car on Oahu. They are telling me that it will cause everything to take longer when trying to get from Pearl Harbor to Honolulu to Waikiki. Is that true?

Where are you staying?

We had a car the entire time and it was very enjoyable. We went on a drive most every day (but we split our driving around the island up into 3 days).

Pearl Harbor is cool on a bus, and you can also get a bus to the Polynesian cultural center on the North side. If you want to drive the island though and hit the Dole plantation, a car is well worth it.

You can also rent scooters or motorcycles for driving locally through Honolulu. That is a blast as well.

So,

You don't need a car for the beach, you have your own personal beach. I forgot you'd want a car to go to Hanama Bay for snorkling. Great Eco-reserve.

But, it is not too busy to have a car. If you keep it for just one day, or maybe two you will be fine. It is all a matter of the expense. The navigation is very easy.

Heck, I can even give you directions hehe!

Ahhh, the memories.

Went once with my wife and first daughter and our nanny, went once to see the Pro Bowl with 3 other guys.

I'm not saying I would even consider going with Sprint. I was just pointing out their rate for the same thing. I also think you could get the same thing (Unl Data and Text) from T-Mo for $20.

And keep in mind that Sprint's coverage areas (roaming and native network, since you can get "no roaming" plans on Sprint) is much larger than Cingular and even Verizon. So coverage is a non issue when comparing Cingular to Sprint.

And, as far as the phones are concerned, Sprint has some pretty cool ones. The Blade, for one. Also, S...

You need to look closer at their coverage map.

http://www1.sprintpcs.com/explore/coverage/NatwideNe ... »

Only the grey areas are "no coverage." The rest of it are either native network or roaming agreements where you don't pay roaming charges. They have amazing coverage, if you ask me. It's just that most of it is not native Sprint network.

Oh, and I believe you were the person I was discussing the w600 with. I just wanted to let you know that I went and saw it this weekend and actually played with it for a little while. I wouldn't get that phone if you paid me to use it. I...

I believe so, but I am in a native sprint area, so it wouldn't affect me. But I was wrong, to get everything tex is speaking of with Sprint would cost $40 per month. So the $29.99 wouldn't be that out of line. Verizon has it beat, but their unlimited texting is only IN network and T-Mobile also has it beat, but their coverage is lacking.

Does anybody really know y they don't have Unlimited Text? Network? Or are they seriously just trying to make money?....i still can't believe that cingular doesn't have unlimited text, the stupidest thing ive heard in wireless. Another question since Cingular has the best "native" coverage in the US. Which companies do they roam with. I know they roam with T-Mobile, but T-Mobile has horrible coverage. So why roam with them? They need to get service in rural areas.

Without a cross-band phone (there's only a couple CDMA/GSM phones) they CAN'T roam onto, for example, Verizon's network, because the technology is not compatible. They could roam onto somone else's GSM network, but I think that Tmo and Cingy are the only two? Unless there are some smaller regional carriers... I know out in Wyoming they roam onto "Midwest Wireless" or something similar.

Cingular had unlimited text in the past, probably before any other carrier did for that matter. Yes, Cingular profits off of people that cant sum up conversations in under TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED text messages a month. You do know you can actually place a call with the handset right? You could also set your LG F9100 to use GPRS instead of SMS to send IMs. Then just get unlimited data.

There is something in the disclaimer, I got charged for it, then the service rep pointed it out to me that if a MMS is not at least 1kb, you would be charged for a text message. So I say attach a small picture, about 5kb in size, and use it that way. He does, however, have a valid point. Every other carrier offers unlimited text for a price, some as low as $10 or maybe even $5 a month. Why can't our Cingular do that?? They used to, and it was FREE unlimited text..I had it for 2 years..

Someone mentioned to just use the phone instead of worrying about the texting so much. Isn't it easier for the network to send text messages rather than carry on a constant phone call? I would think pushing texting over voice would free up network space. I assume they all use the voice channels on the network from what I've learned on here, but still, texting short messages should be network friendlier.
