I know it was posted on the main page that Cingular was shutting down all pre-paid tdma sales in about three months. The question I have is are they shutting down all of the TDMA on there network as of the 1st of the year? Or is it just on pre-paid phones?

No problem. 🙂

And just so it is clear, the reason that Cingular will keep the TDMA service running is because the government won't allow them to shut it off. As long as there are paying customers using the TDMA network, you'll have TDMA service where you always have.

True. The TDMA network is already established and operational. It would take more money to remove it than to keep it running. That, and it's a backup for governmental and military communication...just in case. It's not going anywhere. But, it just chaps my hide when customers come in saying that they were told they "had" to upgrade so their phone wouldn't be turned off. Usually this is by a greedy agent somewhere...something I'm not as I have to sleep at night.
