Life after AT&T Wireless.

Since the merger a year ago, how far has Cingular come in completing the integrations of the once two seperate carriers? I would also like to add that I am glad Cingular integrated both orange and blue in thier new logo (while keeping the cingular jack, which is a cool logo in my opinion)

I know there are 64 K SIM cards available so that customers can use both orange and blue towers.

*Before the merger, AT&T Wireless dominated the Chicago area, but now they are all Cingular

Any updates? Thank you so much

In loving memory of AT&T Wireless 🙂

All integration will be completed by nov 17. Everyones phone should be reading Cingular 99% of the time already. They are doing them in clusters. Mainly because one area may use ericsson equipment(base stations, towers, etc) while another area uses nokia. So what they are doing is swapping equipment from area to area when it makes sense.

If cing used nokia in a specific area, and att used ericsson, they are swapping it so a manufacturers equip is handling the entire area. This is why it takes so long.

You have got to be kidding me. The management of the company is saying it won't be done until sometime toward the end of 2006. How, therefore, do you get off saying that it will be completed by Nov 17th???? You must mean November 17, 2006.

not sure how things went in your area, but i just got sick and tired of all the junk being fed to us by management where i was. I was sad to leave Cingular (I was a legacy Blue) becuase i had been there almost 3 years, but the stress, micromanagement, and a host of other issues didn't give me any choice but to leave. I am not bashing and will not stoop to that level, but I just hope things inprove and that all the Legacy Blue people will find a way to work things out with the new Orange stuff.

I am still in the wireless industry with an independent company and it feels a little better. ALOT less stress and a much more lax atmosphere.

As many others, I was sad to see AWS go, but I guess you can't stop progress. I'm just glad that the s...

OK, explain this to me....how are shareholders responsible for passing on revenues that they made in the buyout on to the employees???

Publicly traded companies have thousands + shareholders. It isn't like all would get together from all over the country and say "let's take all of the profits we just made due to our stock investment and give it back to all of the employees of the company that still have jobs."

That isn't why people invest in stocks.... 🙄
