what is the DEAL?

what is the big deal about the 32k sim card? I have the 6682, I thought the 64k was sposed to work better? I dont have any problems with my phone besides that it will not keep my contacts saved in the phone i always have to copy them.

That issues doesn't exist with a 32k sim card.

No, thats not there intended purpose. A very unlikely situation could occur where newer sim cards could provide better service. Although one example how it could: Sim cards store roaming information. altering that info could change reception. Now with your question 64k sims are not providing better reception, but balancing you between the at&t towers and the cingular towers. this is so that one network isnt overloaded.

and once integration is complete, the 64k's will be essentially pointless. in many areas, the integration is DONE, meaning there are ALL "orange" towers now, no more "blue".

In regards to you having to copy your contacts repeatedly- Are you referring to the phone asking you, "copy new contacts from SIM?" every time you turn the phone on? I have the 6682, and I too was confused by this, thinking that I needed to hit "yes" every time or my contacts wouldn't be on the phone. However, once you've copied them the first time, you can select "no" from then on, and the contacts will still be there. Hope this helps.

The SIM card doesn't have anything to do with "reception."
