Cingular plan without Phone?

swoop

I own a Sony Ericsson T610 phone from T-Mobile which is unlocked and would like to switch to Cingular.

Is it possible to get one of their plans without signing the 1 or 2 year contract?

I would also like to transfer the old number.

any information is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Swaroop

Actually, you can use your phone since it's unlocked, but you have to get a Cingular SIM and if you are not already a Cingular customer, you cannot activate a new service without signing at least a 1 year contract. If you were an existing Former AT&T Wireless customer, or a Cingular customer you could, but if you're a new customer, they will not activate your service without at least a 1 year contract. 1 year contracts are not eligible for mobile to mobile or rollover minutes. Both of these options are 2 year contract options only.

You can sign on to another persons family talk for No Commit, and get a free sim card, and get mobile to mobile. Good Luck1

Acceptions can be made on some things as retention efforts, but it's not common policy to make the offer for 2 year promotions on 1 year contracts. Sometimes, it depends on the type of account or the amount you pay for your monthly service.

The rate plan brochure say mobile to mobile is a promotion and requires 1 or 2 year contract.

that is totally wrong

anyone can activate without signing a contract. if you don't sign a contract, you STILL get rollover, but no mobile to mobile. If you sign at least a 1 year you will then get the M2M.

where do you get your info from? if you ...
