Ok...I had to post to see if anyone else using Cingular's aptly named POS.com ("point of sale" - yea right) has constant problems with it.

Every activation or Upgrade I do on the site seems to have atleast one error/quirk somewhere throughout the process, not to mention the times when it just kicks you back out and you have to log in again. as I write this, I've been waiting 5 minutes for the last page to finish loading (meanwhile we use DSL here that has no problems accessing any other sites). Page finished loading, yet it still tells me "page is loading...please wait." now that I've wasted that time going through the computer to activate the phone and now I have to call customer care and waiiiiiit with them so that I can still save t...

At least you can do upgrades on POS.com. The agreement between our company and POS doesn't include the ability to do upgrades. Other than that, we rarely have issues on connectivity or loading pages. We only do new activations and they run smoothly 85% of the time. At least you don't have to fill out a long form contract to renew someone's service.

Its your computers, not Pos.com it self. I have 3 stores I rotate to. At one store, it messes up half the time, at another store it runs great, and at the third store, its runs about 85% effecency. I think it has to do with the ram your system has. At the store that does great we have 512mb, at the 85% we have 256mb, and at the dysfunctional store we have 128mb. If you can get approval, upgrade the ram and see if that helps.

The main cause is the computer, you are using. I just upgraded to 512 and most problems went away. Laptop also has 512, and it runs great too. Sometimes I have prolems with my DSL, which is a whole nother issue. peace, love, and family talk
