v600 or T616?

I'm about to start up service with Cingular and I'm trying to decide between the Motorola v600 or the SE T616. I want something reliable with decent sound quality and I would prefer bluetooth. I'm leaning toward the v600 due to it's speaker phone capabilities. Battery life is another thing I'm looking to improve upon (I'm leaving Nextel and my i90c behind.) Any comments or recommendations are appreciated!

The V600 will be quite fun, but you've also gotta think about the price. Even if you're signing up for the two year contract you'll be paying $200-$250 up front on the V600, depending on the rebates in your area. The T616 will be $100 less. Whatever you do though, get insurance or you'll be shelling out up to $350 to replace it.

also, the 616 wont be around much longer, so you may want to weigh that in your decision.

the t616 will be replaced with the t636.
if you do unfortunately decided to get a moto, make sure you get insurance for when the damn thing starts to fall apart.

i've got a t616 for my wife and she loves it.

The man just said that, he wanted a phone with bluetooth. I mean, did you learn to pay attention in school. I would suggest that you pick the V600 over the T616 or wait for Cingular to launch some more phones.

In all seriousness (for a change around here 😁 ), admittedly I am not a huge Motorola fan. But when it comes to comparing these two phones feature for feature, I would have to go with the v600. Superior battery life, much better camera quality, larger address book, and metal covers make the Moto the clear winner. Let's just hope Moto learned something from the software issues in the v400.

If price is no object, I'd definitely say go with the V600. IMHO, the T616 is harder to use (joystick navigation), not a flip phone, and the camera malfunctions. The V600 IS a motorola though, so it's bound to have at least one issue. ;) Agree with the other guys, definitely get insurance no matter which you choose. Oh, and per another post, we are going to quit carrying the T616 so if you ever need a manufacturer's warrantee exchange it'll be a pain to send it back to SE if it ever breaks.

I'd like to thank everyone for their input. I got my local Cingular business sales rep to deliver my V600 today. So far I like it very well, only time will tell if it can survive daily usage. Thanks again!

So far, I believe what everyone else has said to be right on. I think it's a good phone, gets good signal (whereas some just don't/can't) and I'm looking forward to all my bluetooth goodies to arrive to really put it to the test. If you're wanting data connectivity (something I was looking for), then get Motorola's mPT software and go to town. I get excellent connectivity using the cable I've got (until the bluetooth USB shows up for my laptop) while I'm in town, at home it's still faster than my 28.8k dialup. I have had some difficulty getting a photo of my sons to the right size for a full screen wallpaper and that's a little frustrating. I had numerous problems getting it to recognize a couple of ringtones I wanted that were in MP3 f...
