Cinglar "Can you keep up?"
In response to a post on here about the ringback things. I agree! Cingular I believe is the last to get everything! Ringbacks, PTT, better phones. I hate when I call customer service and there like "uhhh i don't even know that that is" I think all wireless employee's should be required to check websights like this...and should generally stay up on whats new. Just my opinion...not tryin to hate! 😉

Oh....and I heard from a cinular rep that PTT was pushed back to October...who would of ever guessed?????? 🤣

it wasn't "pushed" back to oct. It is launching this month for business customers, and oct 15 for consumers... that was the original plan when it was announced over the summer.

Dude I'm glad someone is as concerned as I! It's not like were asking for the phones to cook our dinner for us! Help me to understand... didnt Cingular buy AT&T Wireless to be number one? I think it's time they realize that being number 1 in costumers doesnt constitute that they're number 1 overall. Now before you take this as a rant, know that I'm MR. CINGULAR, however this doesnt mean that I have to be MR. SETTLE 4 LESS. Will I leave Cingular for another carrier, NO, so that is not the answer. What does need to happen is Cingular needs to pay attention to some of us " who may know a thing or two" about what is Really going on and stop dragging their feet!!!!!!! 😡

Tmobile: still operating on gprs while cingular has umts in 6 cities now and launching nation-wide within a year.
-They have a selection of 14 phones while cingular offers 22 phones.

I agree. Why would anyone want PTT when you could just call and use the UM2M mins.

Thats the whole point of PTT. It allows for quick convos. It allows you to say what you want without getting interrupted and getting a on a tangent about something completely off base from the original convo. Ringback tones are the stupidest things Ive ever heard of. Why would you want something that youll never hear or see? What are you gonna do call yourself every day just to hear your song? And what if you have a potential employer calling you or someone else important and you have a 50 Cent song playing? Yeah Im sure they would love that. Ringback is stupid and is just another gimmick for people to pay for. Its sad though because it probably will be popular. PTT has significant uses. You dont realize it until you try it. True about direct connect. It has real use. As far as ringback tones. Some think it is cool for their friends to hear something when they call other then the tones. And you can get different ones for different people. Different times of day you can assign them. For example, I have the monday night football theme set to play if someone calls me on a Monday from 9 to midnight. I have one for my wife that is all romantic and stuff. And I leave anyone who is not in my list (which is easily managed from vzw's website) with the traditional ring. So for business, people don't hear it. But of couse if I call from my office phone people can hear it...to sell the product! That is an American thinking though..."why do something that is cool ...
