Why Cingular sucks

cubbie1423

Sep 7, 2005, 11:07 AM
Here is the main reason that Cingular sucks. Cingular takes a lot of the idiots that they have working for them and they make them supervisors and managers, and then the good smart people that actually know how to do their jobs can't do them properly, because having an idiotic supervisor is very draining and it burns people out very quickly. Cingular would be a better company if they could just start throwing out the idiots starting from the CEO's office and going down.

OH... and not to mention getting 50 calls a day from customers who can't figure out what end of the cell they are supposed to speak into can make someone want to jump off a bridge.

that has nothing to do with why you think cingular sucks, it has to do with why you think your job sucks.

I don't work for Cingular, or any wireless company. If you don't think having idiotic employees can make a company suck, then you are nuts.

They have nothing to do with each other, I was just listing another reason why Cingular sucks. Stupid customers get the reps fed up, and they are in turn rude to the non stupid callers.

Regardless of what this guy says now, he sounds like a disgruntled call center employee that got in trouble. Just read the first post. Sad.

If no customers called in with stupid questions-

How would many of you make your living instead?

Perhaps then you would not need those terrible supervisors. In fact there would be no job. Unless Cingular in benevolent enough to pay people to sit at cubicles waiting for the inevitable multitude of customer calls just calling to say hi, or thanks.

Yeah I heard Cingular is going to create a new position in all COR stores called "fun and happy comment reciever". This position will be filld by a person who sits in a fluffy orange chair and every customer who comes in to say thanks and you guys rock, he will just sit there and beam with a smile on his face. I'm actually going to apply for one of the positions next month. This is really going to be great.

As far as employees go we are hired and put through class after class to learn what we explain to our customers. 9 times out of 10 we call customer service to back up the answers we give them. So maybe because the service is bad every now and then doesnt mean that we dont know what we are doing at the jobs we are paid for and do a damn good job at.

Oh, and lets see the wonderful top execs with your precious sprint/nextel do better. They were not capable of the organic growth you stated in another thread either. They had to merge in order to compete too.

The grass isn't going to be any greener for your wonderful, highly touted merger either.

yea but thats not important (how many "perspective" customers they cover) Whats important is how many customers they actually have, and the quality of their network.. u know... dropped calls, download speeds... Yea, their plans are cheaper, but look at their coverage map. Hmmm... cheaper plans would be better if you could use the phone.. right?

We have tried to make this point to Nextel18 for months now. He just doesn't seem to understand that Sprint's network is not the best out there. So we have to go at him from different angles to prove him wrong.

You are missing the entire point. The point is that coverage is mostly due to a roaming agreement with Verizon. Here is sprint's coverage on their native network:
