Cingular and Hurricane Katrina
Well, I live in South Mississippi (Gulf Coast) and I'm sure everyone has heard of the hurricane that just hit there. I have my Cingular phone out here with me in Florida (Ft. Walton Beach) and everything is fine. My grandmother has Cingular as well and all is working. My aunt and uncle who are still in Mississippi are making and receiving calls. My girlfriend has Cingular and Verizon, both with MS numbers in San Antonio, TX, her Cingular phone is working, Verizon is not. My mom and her husband are here in FL and have Verizon and niether of their phones are working... We are staying with an aunt and uncle here and they have Sprint and their phones are working, but then again they have FL based numbers. Just thought I'd post my experience.

I have to say hopefully anyone who lives down that way god bless you and hopefully everyone will be ok. Now onto cell service there expect verizon to get the higher honors of providers that actually worked during storm, while other companies talk about service verizon actually delivers!! remember actions speak louder than words and verizon proves it evry year!!!

Thank you Tex... I haven't been able to go home yet, but looking at the news, I don't know what the hell is going to be there when I do... Most of the Mississippi Gulf Coast is gone. I don't know what they are showing in Dallas, but here in FL they are showing a lot of coverage on it... The casino my mom and her husband work at are on the highway across from where it was. Hopefully our call center faired much better, but I don't know.
