How about these new Rollover plans?

Austonian

As a Tier one company rep I got my warnings about the new rate plans and changes to the rollover minutes today.

The new FT plans are exactly what VZW offers, way to lead the industry Cingular. 🙄 Go here www.verizonwireless.com to see the plans.

Now about the rollover minutes. Starting Sep 1, ANY change to customers pp will mean they can keep 1x the number of minutes in there plan in their rollover bank.

SO, lets say Mrs Oldlady calls up because shes sees she has 8000 rollover minutes in their bucket. She's been on a 99.99 2000 minute plan, now she wants to go down the 39.99 Nat 450. Well I need to let you know Mrs. Oldlady, when you change your plan at the end of your bill cycle you're only going to keep 450 of your rollov...

i honestly do not see a problme with the way the rollover will work in the circumstance as long as the customer is told about that

Not so fast fan-boy. I would not have to have BOTH Carriers if Verizon was so damn reliable and had the coverage they want people to believe they have. Those national reporting companies obviously did not make calls from certain parts of Oklahoma, Texas, New Jersey and many other places.

I dont care if the family talk loses rollover. I'll take a tested through and true GSM carrier any day before I go to CDMA. I'd take T-mobiles swiss cheese network before I went to Verizon.

when i called to get the ability to email pictures from my picture camera - Cingular - told me that my rollover plan was expired and i couldn't add picture emailing to my plan 👿

i guess they wanted those 8,000 rollover minutes back from my current rollover plan - wonder if they are a liability in their General Ledger 😕

jmm.. now you keep them, but after the 1st, if you change plans and your on a family plan, ur minutes will be capped at the new anytime rate... but your still able to build them up to absurd levels.

😁 So have I, and it was great for me, and I don't live in Rhode Island either 😕 I had Verizon, and it was horrible in my area, but does that mean Verizon has the worst coverage...um to most people with an IQ of at least double digits that would be no, it just didnt work for me in my area, I'm sorry Cingular didnt work out for you, but Cingular has at least the second best (if not best) nationwide coverage, and thats supported by facts, i.e. number of towers, digital coverage area, etc.

I have both and Verizon sucks in Texas and the Northeast is NOT as reliable as Cingular. Try using A Verizon phone indoors in South East Jersey or PA. In the Southwest Verizon is better on open stretches of road and in Phoenix.I am all over this country and need BOTH Carriers. If either was what it is advertised to be I would not need both. Its that simple.

If it's so great why are you reading and responding to the competitor's threads? Take it from someone who had nothing but problems and issues with your so called 'RELIABLE' carrier, it's not all peaches and cream over there. For some of Cingular actually works BETTER and MORE RELIABLE than ol' reliable!

Yeah I just got off the phone with a rep. She said some of the plans are definitely losing rollover. WHY!?!?! How are we supposed to beat Verizon's coverage area without this feature?

What does coverage area have to do with roll over?

I mean you can give someone 3000 minutes for $4 a month. Unless they have coverage they're useless. I have to have both Verizon and Cingular because Cingular does not have the rural coverage area of Verizon but is better then Verizon in some major areas.

I wasn't directly comparing the two. I'm not a moron. I'm saying rollover on family talk, or any plan for that matter, is a huge selling point with cingular. While Cingular has a huge network, it really isn't as large as verizon's. Verizon boats largest network all around. Cingular boasts largest ALL DIGITAL, and rollover. Without rollover we take away a key element in our selling.

f/t will keep rollover... but when you switch plans, if you go down, your rollover is capped at the anytime minutes of the plan.. you are able to build them up to crazy levels again, it just caps what you have when the switch occurs. chances are, if you have rollover, it wouldn't matter to much because you don't use all your minutes anyway.......

Which is exactly my point, why go out of their way to annoy the customer?

For a lot of customers it won't effect them, but I get one or two customers everyday that want to lower their plan to use of some of their rollover balance. Now they'll see the balance and be all set to save some money, which we won't let them.

That's a GREAT way to reach out to your customers when your other big corporate push is to improve your reputation for customer service and raise your standings in surveys.

Remember the advertising slogan 'They're your minutes'? Yeah well they're you're minutes, unless you change your plan.

lol i agree with you... but what about the people that accumulate 5000 rollover minutes, then switch to the cheapest plan available... that kills cingulars ARPU, which they are trying to keep steady, with slight increases...

If you work for Cingular, you should read up on the new plans a bit, or ask your manager... hopefully you'll figure it out before the 1st.. or their's gonna be alot of upset customers for no reason. Just tell them up front, you'll see how receptive they are to it.
