Is there anyway to manually search for service? on my nokia 6200, every so often, even while in one place, it decides to go down to no bars, and it will not look for service again for a while, (this usually happens in low service area's) my only option now is to, power off and power back on (and even that doesn't always work..) so I need some way to manually search for service.. (on my old phone there was an option of enabling "Fast Search")

Is there anyway to switch bands, like from 850 to 1900??

hi i am Customer service represenative for cingular. there are no mauel programing options on GSM phones. If you are in a low signal area call customer care and we will do a network trouble ticket and we will get more service in that area.

You can tell cingular but are they really going to do anything? A trouble ticket goes to engineering who evaluates the area and there is a good change a site can be adjusted to get signal in that area. If a site needs to be built well that could take up to 2 years. So don't expect immediate results.

the problem is, they told this to me, on the last day, and the store I got it from was in NY (and I was nowhere near there..)

seconed I notice this by cingular more than anybody else, that when you go indoors, you go from full service to nothing...

All over? Or just in the low service areas?

I've noticed it in some buildings, and not in others. I tend to blame it on cast-iron construction techniques, thus betraying my ignorance of modern architecture. 🤭

all over, it will go from full, to like barley 2-3 bars.

I think it has to do with which band, I heard one goes thru buildings better, while one does not,

what band does Cingular use in my area (07960)?

do they share towers with tmobile in my area?

and is there any way to put my phone in a setting th...
