The one big benefit that nobody sees is the fact they give you 15 dollars off the plan if you qualify through the Next program. Doesn't sound like much but look at it this way. When you have that 15 dollar credit you can add a brand new phone of your choice under the new 18 month next program the monthly installment on most of the phones cost under 20 dollars. Therefore you are adding a new phone that you are not being subsidized for that you are supposed to be paying full price for no added money compared to the contact plan of 15 dollars more. Or at worse paying 5 extra dollars each month if you choose one that goes for 20 bucks each month and you aren't held to a contract.
You do save money if you b.y.o.p., or out of contract. With mobile share plans with multiple smart phones you do see a savings. Even with 2 year it isn't as much of a savings but you do see it. I know they have a few kinks to work out but it is a good step in the right direction for customer firendly prices.
i work for att and I say this everyday... with mobile share there is 2 main charges. 1st 10 gigs 100 dollars. put to side second charge you need to understand. Starts as 40 dollars but then your getting a 25 dollar discount(6 gig and lower gets 15 discount). Basically this plan does not include for us to make anything back on the phone, so thats why the stipulation for discount is included. our old plans (family talk/nation voice plans) were higher so we made the money back over two years. MSVP we dont. SO its either take the discount on the phone, two year contract, or do next installment and keep discount on bill. If your on a 10 gig plan or higher(or the grandfathered 7 gig plan) do the next itll be cheaper over time. If you do two year ... (continues)
