Why no LTE on my Gophone

I just activated a prepaid GS3 and thought ATT opened up LTE to their prepaid customers. I'm in a LTE area, but my phones not showing it anywhere.

LTE is enabled on go phone plans now. I mean is your gs3 from at&t or is it tmobile? If it is a unlocked tmobile gs3 they are only 4g.

I went to an ATT store and my GoPhone SIM card wasn't an LTE one. Swapped SIM out and now I get LTE.

The real question is WHY, in Gods name, would you buy a GSIII only to put it on a prepaid service?

That makes no sense. You've got an awesome phone that you can do almost nothing with.

You would have been better off to go with a 2 year contract, get the phone at the subsidized price and then just cancel your service if you don't want it anymore. The early termination fee is less than the cost of the retail price of the phone, nerdy bird. 🤣

at&t lte vs 4g is only a x3 difference in speed which is not that much of a difference. Plus you can use lte on prepaid. and being cheaper helps
