I've been having some strange problems with my Cingular phone. I just don't think it's my phone itself because I had the same problem with my old phone. I have a Sony Ericsson Z500a and I really like it. Sometimes my call will get dropped although my signal strength shows that it is full. This seems to happen quite often. I used to have a Nokia 6340i and it would do the same thing every few days. Last night I had the strangest thing happen. I was talking on the phone with someone last night when my conversation was cut off and some woman started speaking in spanish. After the woman was done speaking in spanish it did the little Cingular error tone thing and said something like "We're sorry but the number you have dialed is not a work...

I haven't called in yet. I do know that other people have been having similar voice mail problems because I've called them and tried leaving them a message and it cuts me off! As far as the dropped calls I haven't checked with anyone yet. I was just wondering if anyone else on here was having the same problem.

What kind of SIM card do you have? Is it the same one that was in your 6340? IE a 32k?

don't know where the other person is but i am in the bay area and having a very simular issue; my call will get dropped in a known good coverage area. when trying to call back i am not able to complete the call. the other party will try to call me back and get the msg. that my number is temporarily disconnected. turn my phone on and off everyday.

well for the issue where your voicemail is cutting ppl off... voicemail can only get so long of a msg and if they try making to long of a msg ull get cut off...

with the issue of trying to get into your voicemail and it not responding make sure your DTMF tones are on ( user manual)

I have checked all that. Besides, one guy barely got 5 words out before voicemail cut him off. Thanks though.

You must be in Florida? I use a Moto i730 w/ Nextel and my wife uses a Sams x427 w/ Cingular. Same problems... That mysterious Spanish lady... She doesn't speak normal, either. Kind of like datatata...

Actually I'm in Louisiana. But I've heard Cingular coverage was pretty sorry in Florida. Never been there with this phone so I really don't know.
